Algonquin Park
Algonquin Park was the first provincial park in Ontario and is one of the biggest provincial parks in the area. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy this park in every season, from canoeing and backpacking in the summer to watching wildlife and cross-country skiing in the winter. Algonquin Park also holds tons of fun events throughout the year, perfect for attending no matter when you’re visiting!
Hardy Lake Park
If you’re particularly passionate about hiking, Hardy Lake Park is an incredible destination. The trails throughout this park are ranged from moderate to difficult and take you all around Hardy Lake. You’ll be able to enjoy the rugged shoreline, check out incredible Precambrian rock landscapes, and head to the water to swim or fish.
Arrowhead Provincial Park

You can bring your furry friend to the pet-friendly beach, explore the three hiking trails, bring a boat to go fishing, or have a picnic at the designated picnic areas. There are all kinds of beautiful bird species to admire, perfect for those who need to check some varieties off of their list!
Ragged Falls Provincial Park
The last provincial park on our list is Ragged Falls, located not far from Algonquin Park. Here, you’ll find one of the top 10 waterfalls in Ontario! You’ll need to hike down a short path to get to the waterfall, but the effort to get there is more than worth it. While this is a slightly small park compared to the others on this list, its close location near Algonquin Park means you can experience them both in one day!
