Try a Pint at These Local Breweries In Parry Sound

Breweries have become a staple of a stay in Parry Sound. Locals love to frequent these breweries for gut-bustin’ grub and a stealthy, locally crafted brew to wash it down. Breweries have been launching like crazy throughout the country, but they have especially taken off in Parry Sound.

In recent years, “the Jewel of the 30,000 Islands” has seen an influx of breweries as Trestle Brewing Company and Norse Brewery have opened their doors to patrons.

Norse Brewery opened first, followed by Trestle Brewing Company, and both have experienced a ton of success despite times being tough for everyone these past couple of years.

So, what do these two breweries have to offer? What makes them unique? Let’s take a peek at what makes them a ‘must’ when you stay in one of our Parry Sound cottage rentals.

Trestle Brewing Company

Hitting up a brewery is possibly one of the most enjoyable of the many things to do in Parry Sound. Leave the comfort of your pet-friendly vacation rental and head on over to Trestle Brewing Company. This independently-owned craft brewery is in downtown Parry Sound, where the Seguin River meets Georgian Bay beneath the historic CPR Trestle Bridge – hence the name of this brewery!

The taproom serves year-round beer brewed on-site plus seasonal beers. You can pair your beer with a delectable dish from the taproom. With its open-concept design, this brewery connects its brewhouse on one end via the retail and taproom area, then sprawls out onto the gorgeous waterfront patio at the other end. As far as community hubs go, you cannot get much more integrated than Trestle Brewing Company.

So, what’s on tap? You can do a beer-tasting flight with four or eight Trestle Beers. There are lagers, IPAs, Rye Porters, Belgian Strongs, Key Lime Gose, Session Stout, and more. The Off The Rails Cocktails include the Grinch Tears Margarita, Vineland Estates Unoaked Chardonnay, and Strewn Riesling Small Batch. Rose, red, and unique wines are also available.

If you don’t want anything with alcohol, indulge in ginger beer, juice, a club soda, or an all-natural root beer. Whatever you choose, you can pair it with a soft pretzel, hummus, a trout board, salad, or a sandwich. And remember, happy hour is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2-6 p.m.

Norse Brewery

Norse Brewery is another Parry Sound brewery worth checking out. After a long day of exploring the provincial parks of Parry Sound, head on over to Nobel. Norse Brewery is open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., making it ideal for a lunch stop.

Norse Brewery’s all-natural beer is carefully crafted without additives or processing shortcuts. Flavors are crisp with subtle undertones, and they can be paired with a filling meal. There are picnic tables outside where you can sit and sip your beer. Visitors say that the red ale is one of their favorites and that the owners and staff provide courteous and friendly service.

Plan Your Visit

You can bring your brew home to sip on while you relax from a long day of exploring everything that Parry Sound has to offer or have fun drinking it at the brewery of your choice.

This hidden gem is the perfect place to spend a rainy day, but you will want to bring your umbrella. Take your beer back to your vacation rental or drink it on-site – it is up to you.
