Kawartha Lakes Craft Breweries to Visit for a Pint on Your Vacation

The Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario is well-known for its wetland habitats, provincial parks, and much more. While many people are aware of the great local beer in Muskoka or craft breweries in Parry Sound, the Kawartha Lakes local brewery scene also features tons of great contributors.

Indeed, anyone seeking to challenge their taste buds to a local pint will not be disappointed when they stop in at any of the following spots!

Book this year’s stay in a Kawartha Lakes cottage rental and try them out for yourself.

Pie Eyed Monk Brewery

Pie Eyed Monk offers a beautiful blend of local cuisine and delicious brews from Lindsay Brewing Company.  It’s a popular spot on the weekend, so be prepared for lots of crowds in lines.

On Fridays and Saturdays, they are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; on Sundays and Mondays, you can catch them from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and you can stop in between 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursdays. Check out their rotating weekly patio specials, and awesome menu of beers like the Lock 33 Lindsay Golden Ale, First Response Amber Ale, or Smoke Stack Stout.

Old Dog Brewing Company

When searching out the best craft breweries in Kawartha Lakes, you can’t miss places like the Old Dog. Catch them from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays or from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday or from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Many guests come in mainly for their breathtaking Single Malt Scottie. It includes some of the freshest roasted barley you will ever sip; the taste is subtle, but you can feel it immediately. It’s nutty, caramelized, and makes a perfect toast for any occasion.

Bobcaygeon Brewing Company

Another great brewery in Kawarth Lakes is Bobcaygeon Brewing Company, where you can try out the one and only Common Loon. This pale ale drink makes a great first drink if you’re ordering in rounds and is also quite hoppy. It’s got a perfect little mix of grapefruit, which is beyond bliss to your taste buds!

On Sundays, stop in from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. You can also make a visit from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday or from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
