Excellent Muskoka Retreat!

We had an EXCELLENT stay at this cottage! The cottage was spotless upon arrival – not a dust bunny in a closet or spot on a sheet! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need, plus more. There were extra blankets for chilly nights, hand towels for each person, and face cloths too. Outside, there were more than enough chairs (extras in the shed), fishing rods to use, kayaks, a paddle boat, and the newer dock was perfect for the kids to jump off of. Our family caught (and ate) large bass and pike right off the dock, and the fishing seemed to be even better in the middle of the sunniest days! A family of ducks visited every day, and a family of what appeared to be minks scurried by the shore several times. The dock had sun from about 11:30-12 until sunset each day. The shallow entrance beside the dock was perfect for those of us who didn’t want to jump in, and wasn’t too rocky (although I would recommend water shoes for kids, because there were some rocks). The only improvements that we’d love to see for next year would be some more lighting in the back for evenings, and crossing our fingers that a deck might be installed to be able to use the beautiful patio doors! Also, the fridge has clear instructions that it must remain at level 4, but it froze a lot of our food – mainly fruits and veggies. The only other thing that we were confused about was that a previous review mentioned access to both buildings, but we didn’t have access to the other cottage. Not necessary at all, but of course the kids were curious 😂 Regardless of those small things, we cannot wait to return! Thank you for the amazing stay!
