Wagon Wheel is a dogs paradise

We are just back from our 3rd time at the Wagon Wheel, and it just keeps getting better & better. We initially chose this cottage because it was dog friendly, and it seemed off the beaten path. And let me tell you, it checks all the boxes. With only a couple other places on the lake, you can go all week and never see another person. Sitting around the bon fire under the stars, with the only sound of loons is heaven. The dogs can run around the property, maybe bark at a chipmunk, and you don’t need to worry about them bothering anyone. The level of cleanliness when you arrive is fantastic. The kitchen is well stocked. But if you forget something, town is only a quick 20 mins away. They have a Foodland, LCBO, Beer Store, and a wonderful bakery. There is lots of outdoor stuff to keep you entertained – canoe, kayak, water toys, etc. Bring mosquito coils for early evening (before the smoke of the bonfire gets going). If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy with your your fur babies, don’t hesitate to book this cottage. We have already pre-booked for next year.
Perfect cottage for our family!

The Wagon Wheel was a fantastic cottage for our family. It was a very quiet and peaceful week, and it felt we pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves. We probably spent most of it on the dock, whether jumping in the lake, relaxing, or fishing, and a huge bonus was the separate spaces throughout the property where our family could hang out whether together or separately. Our teenager loved the pool table in the games room, our preteen loved the bunkie for quiet time and reading, and I loved the enclosed gazebo by the water for bird watching and reading. I especially loved hearing the loons everyday, it was a wonderful way to start the morning or end the evening. The cottage had a classic cottage feel with modern touches, it was spotless upon arrival, and it included pretty much everything. It was a wonderful week, thank you!

My husband and I have been looking for the cottage that we want to come back to year after year and I think we’ve found it at Wagon Wheel! I don’t even know where to start – everything is so lovely! The grounds of the cottage property are stunning, the views of the sunset are sublime! We enjoyed the firepit almost every night of our stay that weather permitted. Fishing was great and the canoe and kayaks were enjoyed by our whole group. I especially loved reading on the swing by the water.
Inside, the cottage is very comfortable with lots of different areas that we could spread out to, but never being too far away. We stayed in the bunkie for a few nights and found it so comfortable and charming!
We’re really hoping to head back to Wagon Wheel next summer! 🙂 Thanks for having us! 🙂
Another awesome trip

Just back from another amazing trip to Wagon Wheel. It was everything we remembered. We didn’t have the best weather, but there is lots to do. The quiet is divine, only 2 other cottages on the lake, and neither of them are close. The dogs had a blast running around the property, chasing turtles/snakes/frogs. And you don’t need to worry about them bothering any other cottages. The water access is very easy, with soft sand. If you have dogs, this is an awesome place to take them. And dealing with CLRM is very easy, everyone we have been in contact with have been very helpful. We will be booking again for next year
Another perfect week at Wagon Wheel!

For the third year in a row, Wagon Wheel did not disappoint in the slightest!
Warm weather, amazing sunsets, sparkling clear water, fantastic company – we couldn’t ask for more.
My 5 year old LOVED catching his first fish, playing in the shallow sandy water, roasting marshmallows and playing round after round of “Trouble.” While my 10 month old got to experience cottage life for the first time – sleeping in (!!), campfires, floating in the tube with Mommy and so much more.
Madoc has a cute little ice cream parlor (The Malt Shoppe, right beside Foodland) that has also become a fun little family tradition.
We enjoyed the BBQ meal after meal.
As always, the screened in sunroom was a hit for card games after the kids went to bed.
Our dog loved swimming in the lake as much as we did!
Thank you so much to the property owners for another week in paradise!
Amazing cottage with our dogs

We wanted a private cottage, with water access, that allowed dogs. Well, Wagon Wheel checked all our boxes. With only 3 cottages on the lake, (and no motorized boars), the level of quiet is fantastic. Watching the sunset, while sitting by a fire, is something we will never forget. The dogs loved the grounds, lots of smells & frogs to chase. If your dog had mobility issues, the stairs may be an issue – it took ours a few days to get used to them.
CLRM checked in on us, and answered our few questions very promptly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wagon Wheel, and hope to go back
Another Perfect Cottage Week!

We just came back from our second year at Wagon Wheel and had another amazing August week!
We took full advantage of the dock, firepit, screened-in porch, wrap-around deck, grassy area, water toys, kayaks, canoe & pedalboat!
Our 4-year old had the best time trying to catch frogs and playing bocce ball!
The new BBQ was a huge improvement and greatly appreciated by the cooks!
The outdoor/second fridge and counter area by the BBQ is so convenient.
Our dog loved playing in the water and has finally mastered swimming!
Overall a great cottage week, we’re already counting down the days til we can come back in 2023!
Thanks Aaron & CLRM!
Better than imagined!

Wagon Wheel exceeded our expectations. It has a wonderful balance of rustic cottage with comfortable amenities. Robinson Lake is a small (yet still a good size) lake with only three cottages on it. We had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire week and it was extremely peaceful. I loved not having to worry about the kids getting run over by a boat when kayaking, swimming, or jumping off the floating dock. There was more than enough space to spread out and we loved the games room. My husband and I spent many hours playing pool. The cottage itself is clean, comfortable, and has everything you could need.
This cottage had it all!

LOVED this cottage! We had a super hot week, so spent the days on the dock and in the lake. Perfect exposure for all day sun and gorgeous sunsets! Swimming was great off the shore for toddlers, and off the end of the dock or the raft for adults. Just enough grass for bocce ball and washer toss. The large deck was well used too, and the covered area at the side with the barbecue, extra fridge and table was brilliant! The inside of the cottage has a great floor plan, and the kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were a good size, and the beds were comfortable. We used the screened in sun-room for all of our dinners and for games in the evening. The breeze was lovely. They really thought of everything! I will be back!
Perfect Cottage Week

I visited Wagon Wheel along with my family in August 2021. Our week in cottage country was absolutely perfect!
The drive was easy and instructions for accessing the cottage itself were effortless.
We quickly unpacked and enjoyed a simple dinner before making it down to the lake to dip our feet in.
By day 2 the heat and humidity kicked in, for the majority of the week.
When we weren’t sleeping, in the surprisingly cool cottage (even in 40 degree weather!), we spent the whole week in the lake!
Between the dock & multiple points of water entry (which accommodated all the members in our group, based on age and abilities), we rarely left the waterfront!
But, when we did, the partially covered, 3-side wrap around deck with BBQ, counter top & extra fridge was a great spot to relax, cook a meal or mix a cold drink.
Almost every meal was enjoyed in the screened-in sun (shade) room as were several rounds of Euchre & other games!
The bedroom layout was fantastic for our family. With the bunk bedroom on the lower level, near the living room & the 2 Double/Queen bedrooms near the kitchen and bathroom, kids weren’t disturbed when the parents were up late.
The bunkie was occupied by my brother for the week, he was very comfortable & kept cool.
Overall, we had a fantastic week & I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a traditional week of family cottaging fun!
Hidden gem with lots of nature

This is a hidden gem if you like to get away from the rest of the world. Loons, bull frog concerts, birds galore, kayaking amongst the lily pads and more. And enough space to get away from each other. Dog heaven. Best for those who like to go to a place and stay put. Nice sandy water entry area. There are critters in the water (it is a wet land lake) but none that bothered us. Place is really well set up. The games room would be fabulous in rainy weather but we didn’t use it. Highly recommend and will hopefully go back someday.
Lake was fantastic!

We spent 10 nights at wagon wheel and had a great time. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. And the lake was fantastic. Super easy access for our two elderly golden retrievers.
