Fun.
We thought that was all we needed for the opening paragraph to describe this luxury Ontario cottage rental (just in case you're one of those who only read the headlines). That's not you? Then read on! The new owners of this cottage rebuilt it and designed it from the bottom up for family fun. We think you'll agree with us that Sun on a Beach is all that and more when looking for a cottage rental in Ontario.
Located on the sandy shores of Georgian Bay a little north of Wasaga Beach, this Ontario cottage rental has an extensive beachfront area, with panoramic vistas of the water and the Blue Mountains in the distance. If the water is calm, it's like glass...take a floatie and let stress drift away. If the winds have whipped up the waves, a little body surfing could be on the agenda. Everything you want in a waterfront is here - safe and shallow entry for younger children or those less comfortable in the water and magnificent sunsets for all. Once the sun goes down, finish the day with the classic cottage tradition of a marshmallow roast around the firepit.
Entering the main front door, you can immediately see that the upper level is built with the view in mind. The bi-level kitchen/living/dining areas take full advantage of the westerly view. The living room and dining area, along with the south wing, form a sheltered courtyard patio area, which is easily accessed by the sliding doors. The kitchen is a dream. A huge island along with everything you need for great meals is here.
Around the corner is the bedroom wing of the floor. Here you'll find a wonderful primary bedroom! A picture window lets you enjoy a beach view as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. There are 2 additional bedrooms with an additional 7 sleeping spaces. If you're bringing an extended family this seems like a great place for cousins to stay up late talking while their parents half-heartedly tell them to go to sleep.
The lower level has an incredible games room which includes table hockey, foosball, a big TV and an arcade-quality retro video game console. We know that you're here for the sun and surf, but rainy days and evenings will no doubt see the family gathering here for fun and laughter!
Think you can tear yourself away from this luxury cottage rental? Probably not, but for those with a wandering spirit, the quaint town of Elmvale is just 10 minutes away for shopping and a few eateries (We recommend The Country Diner for an inexpensive and delicious breakfast). The hotspot of Wasaga Beach is just a few km south if you would like to check out the boardwalk and the city of Barrie is just a half hour away for all your big city needs. Heading North, the historic towns of Midland and Penetanguishene let you soak up a little Ontario history.
This luxury Ontario cottage rental has something for everyone and is one you will want to come back to each year to enjoy.
