Great experience for our extended family (6 adults and 2 children – a 1 year old and a 4 year old)! The cottage facilities, especially the kitchen area, exceeded our expectations. Lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable for a couple of nights, but was bearable with the fans running. Swimming/wading here is not really suitable for very young children but there is a provincial park with a sandy beach about a 20 minute drive away. Canoeing facilities were very good. The 4 year old spent a great deal of time watching fish off the dock and spotting frogs, turtles, toads, and snakes.

Absolutely fabulous trip! We rented this property for a family vacation for 5 adults, a 3 year old and a five year old. From the minute we walked in, we felt right at home. There is nothing the owners haven’t thought of to make your stay here comfortable! There is a ton of space to either sit together or break off to your own quiet place. Don’t expect to use internet here for anything important as it is extremely slow (as expected for this remote location). Bell cellular worked fine, but our Rogers phones only seemed to work outside in the Muskoka room or even further out toward the dock. We rented a boat from Six Mile Lake Marina and had no issues tying up to the dock at this property. Fishing was awesome on this lake. We only explored a small area of Hungry Bay and caught a bunch of Largemouth and Smallmouth (this lake is huge!). Kids fished off the dock and had a blast with the sunfish! Ping Pong and exercise equipment in the separate gym was a hit. Canoeing was a blast. Didn’t kayak, but they are there if you want to use. Bonfires by the lake were so much fun! The amount of stars in the sky is nothing short of mind blowing. There is no air conditioning at this property. The owners have fans in every room though and the air moves very well. Nights were in the 60’s and we still needed covers. Unless you’e in a giant heat wave, the temps were very comfortable. I can’t thank the owners enough for providing such a beautiful property. Every detail was perfect! We definitely will be back here at some point!

We rented Steampunk Cottage so my family, my brother’s family and my parents could spend time together enjoying Ontario’s cottage country. The cottage had everything we needed – plenty of room for 3 families to be together, a well equipped kitchen for people who love to cook, a spacious and comfortable Muskoka room, lots of deck areas to soak up the sun, plenty of watercraft for adults and kids to enjoy and a well kept landscape surrounding the cottage including a firepit for the evening campfire. The cottage was well decorated, appointed and clean. The owner was extremely responsive to any questions we had. Lots of great hikes nearby as well as towns to explore if you needed additional activities. We had an incredible time and will definitely be returning! Highly recommend renting this property.

For the past few years my husband and I have rented a cottage for us, our 2 kids and their young families to enjoy some time together. Last year we stayed at Steampunk Cottage and even before we left, we were already getting requests to come back. For the first time ever there was unanimous agreement, quite the feat for a family ranging in ages from 9 to 70. Steampunk is fabulous, everything is spotless, comfortable, and so functional. As the name suggests the décor is fun and elegant. The kitchen has everything needed to cook family meals and lots of space to enjoy them together. The owners really understand how to make people enjoy a cottage, you only need to take your food and clothes. The huge screened-in sunroom was a hit, we especially enjoyed it in the morning for coffee while looking out at the water and in the evening for a game of cards. Also, two outdoor patios, when one had sun the other had shade, something for everyone! We had some lively table tennis “tournaments” in the detached exercise room, and we didn’t even have to worry about waking up the baby napping in the house or under a tree. These “tournaments” were often followed by a jump in the water for the more energetic and a relaxing time on the swimming platform for the exhausted folks. The lake is calm and gorgeous with lots of inlets to explore on the many watercrafts available. Lots of room to be together as a group and lots of places to congregate as smaller groups. Steampunk is a gem, I’m so glad we found it. We will definitely be returning again and again. Highly recommend it.

Oh my, what can I say about this property! Stunningly beautiful, peaceful, romantic and a little peace of heaven! We spent some time with our teenage girls for a break away for a bit of sanity from the craziness we are all experiencing. When we arrived, we were truly amazed on how well everything was tastefully decorated, immaculate, well-provisioned from the kitchen, to the bedding, and even the bath and beach towels. You didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything at home as everything is all there for you. There is even a room to play some games and workout by the lake! We can’t wait to return in the summer months to enjoy the swimming and boating activities along with the warm sun and fun that comes with the heat! The wildlife is incredible, we had the pleasure of a juvenile owl, who befriended us, we think by the unique call, he/she was a “Northern Saw-whet Owl”! Super cool! Have a stay, enjoy some rest and relaxation, unwind…you won’t be disappointed…by far, the best cottage rental we have stayed at!

We had a fantastic time celebrating birthdays with the whole Family We woke up in the morning with the lunes, birds and sunshine on the calming waters; it was soo serene! The property is lovely decorated and bedrooms so clean and fresh so to snuggle into the comfortable beds While there is no air condition, we kept the fans on along with the windows open keeping cool and comfortable The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare wonderful Family meals including the gas stove We loved the almost wrap around deck so we had meals on all the different outdoor tables on different sides to provide sun or shade. Memorable afternoons were spent under the trees by the lake,in the muskoka chairs having a drink/ coffee and deserts. There was a hot tub enjoyed every day even beach towels were provided Our seniors had a bit of a challenge climbing the entry stairs. Also the guys were unable to watch the the Blue Jay games due to no network connection on TV I would highly recommend this property
