Welcome to Riverside House, a cozy four-season getaway on the shores of beautiful Mazinaw Lake. The drive here is smooth and easy, whether you’re coming from Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal, making it the perfect meeting spot for family and friends from all over.
Just a few kilometers from Bon Echo Provincial Park, you’ll have easy access to scenic hiking trails, sandy beaches, and unforgettable views. And when it’s time to stock up on groceries or grab an ice cream cone, the charming village of Cloyne is just a short drive away.
Inside, you’ll feel the love and care the owners have poured into the space. Riverside House has been their family retreat for over five years, and now they’re opening it up for you to enjoy. The home features three spacious bedrooms, a cozy bunk room for kids, and 1.5 bathrooms—including a newly renovated ensuite with a washer and dryer in the primary suite, which also has access to a small deck and stunning lake views.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, with new appliances, a large island with seating, and plenty of space to cook and gather. Just off the kitchen, the dining sunroom offers gorgeous views of the lake, comfortably seating six for meals, games, or morning coffee. The living room is made for relaxing, with a gas fireplace, a large TV, and plush furniture to sink into after a long day outdoors.
Step out onto the main deck, where you’ll find a BBQ, outdoor dining area, and gates on each staircase—perfect for families with young kids or pets. A short set of stairs takes you right down to the dock, where you can dip your toes in, jump in for a swim, or just sit back and soak in the serenity of Mazinaw Lake. Whether it’s a weekend escape or a week-long retreat, Riverside House is ready to welcome you.

Things you need to know:
- Pets are not permitted
- Linens are provided – please bring your own outdoor towels
- Rentals include a cleaning service; however, the departure checklist must be completed
- Garbage and recycling disposal is required prior to departure
- The cottage has a smart TV that will allow you to sign into any of the streaming services you personally subscribe to. Please note, these services will require your personal login information and are not provided
- Yard maintenance occurs on Thursday afternoons, weather-permitting
- Electric vehicles: Outlet for a trickle charge
- Parking: Room for up to 4 vehicles
- Cell signal: Good for Rogers/Fido; poor to intermittent for other carriers

Waterfront
The property features over 250 feet of waterfront, with water depths ranging from 6 inches to a foot at the shoreline. However, access to the lake is only from the dock, where the water is approximately 6 feet deep, making it ideal for swimming and jumping in. The lake bottom is sandy, with some weeds and vegetation, so water shoes are recommended. The lake water is clear and well-suited for swimming, and for those looking for a sandy beach, there is one located just a five-minute walk away.Mazinaw Lake is also a great spot for fishing, known for its Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Lake Trout, and Smallmouth Bass, making it a popular destination for anglers.
Sun Exposure
The waterfront has full western exposure, with sun from noon to sunset. Sunset views from the deck, dock and firepit.Boating
The dock has all requirements and can accommodate up to a 20+ foot bowrider or pontoon. Dock is not removed and is available yr round. Approximate depth off dock is 6 feet. Boats may be launched at the Brown Tent Trailer Camp, Bon Echo Boat Launch, or Smarts Marine.Close-By Attractions
- Bon Echo Provincial Park. Beautiful park featuring a 100 metre high Mazinaw Rock featuring over 260 Indigenous pictographs. Great hiking trails from 1 km in length to 17 km in length are available for use from mid May to mid October. (10 mins)
- Cloyne Pioneer Museum. Sit in an early schoolhouse that has been reconstructed within the building. Marvel at the diorama of the Gilmour Tramway, which moved logs from Lake Mazinaw in the Mississippi River Watershed to Pringle Lake. See what an early pioneer kitchen looked like. Touch the early tools and implements made by blacksmiths, coopers, and harness makers. (15 mins)
- Thrill Seeker ATV Tours. Book an introductory, half day, full day, or even an overnight tour that includes dark sky viewing. All equipment is provided, and videos of your adventure are available. Suitable for riders of all skill levels. (30 mins)
- Winter Activities. Ice fishing is available (when ice conditions permit), and snowmobile trails are close by (OFSC 1009).
