There’s a certain moment—somewhere between the hum of the highway fading behind you and the first glimpse of water through the trees—when you know you’ve arrived somewhere special. The Red Fox Lake House on Sharbot Lake is that kind of place. Just a few hours east of Toronto, with easy access from the 401 and Highway 7, it’s where families from across Ontario, from Toronto to Ottawa, and even Montreal naturally gather—meeting in the middle for something that feels a little like home, and a lot like escape.
Inside, the cottage unfolds in a way that instantly brings people together. The main level welcomes you with a spacious kitchen and dining area where meals turn into memories, and a cozy family room that invites long conversations and quiet evenings alike. With three bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs, and an additional three bedrooms, a full bath, TV lounge, and poker/games area on the walkout lower level, there’s room for everyone to spread out comfortably. Whether it’s kids claiming their bunks, grandparents settling into a quiet room, or late-night card games downstairs, every corner of this six-bedroom retreat feels thoughtfully designed for connection.
Days here move at your own pace. Mornings begin on the deck with coffee in hand, overlooking the calm waters of Sharbot Lake. By afternoon, life shifts closer to the shoreline—down to the dockside gazebo where laughter carries across the water and meals are grilled just steps from the lake. Known for its clean, swimmable waters and excellent boating and fishing, Sharbot Lake delivers the kind of classic cottage days that never go out of style.
And when the sun dips low, The Red Fox Lake House truly comes into its own. A soak in the hot tub under a sky full of stars & twinkle lights,, a quiet session in the sauna after a day on the water, or music drifting softly from the piano inside—these are the moments that stay with you. With high-speed internet for those who need it, and sleeping arrangements flexible enough for multi-generational families, The Red Fox Lake House isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to return to, year after year.
