Waterfront
The cottage waterfront has some weeds but it’s generally good for swimming.Close-By Attractions
- George St. Park, Havelock. Park with playground and splash pad (10 mins)
- Callaghan’s Rapids Conservation Area. Callaghan’s Rapids features two waterfalls, spanning across the entire width of the Crowe River. When river flows are low enough, you can walk out and explore the river bed. The upper waterfall is formed on a wedge-shaped outcrop of limestone which appears beveled down to a sharp edge, right at the crest of the falls. The lower falls is similar, but does not exhibit the beveled-edge crest. (15 mins)
- Promised Land Animal Sanctuary. This outdoor 90-minute sanctuary tour will bring you up-close and personal with our farm friends. Connecting with animals in their natural environment, where they are free to roam and be themselves, is a profoundly healing experience on all levels. (20 mins)
- Horsin’ Around Riding Ranch. Trail rides, pony rides, and kids camps are available at the ranch. (15 mins)
- Trent Severn Waterway Lock 8. Lock 8 is located at the end of a dead end road, in a quiet country setting. Popular with boaters because of its secluded location, excellent fishing and proximity to the Murray Marsh. From Lock 8, boaters can walk the Centennial Trail, a length of 1.6 kilometres (1 mile), which runs between Percy Reach and Meyers locks. (25 mins)
