Overview ↑↓
A west-facing waterfront that offers both deep water swimming and a sandy wade in area, legendary sunsets, a classic cottage feel, views to islands and spacious skies and decks and docks from which to enjoy them all. This is the recipe that makes a great cottage vacation for people heading to Muskoka-Parry Sound. We love it when we can offer a property that offers all of these. Manitouwabing Shores is a Parry Sound cottage rental that meets that "sweet spot". Add in the appeal of Lake Manitouwabing and you have a great choice for a family vacation.
A nicely appointed kitchen is paired with a bright, surrounded by windows, dining area. You'll enjoy meals here looking out over the lake, anticipating the day's adventures over coffee and toast. The living area is central to the cottage, with a walkout to the extensive decking. The bedrooms and 4-piece bathroom round out the other end of the cottage, sleeping 6 people comfortably. The bunkie is included during the warmer months providing additional sleeping accommodation for 2 children or teens on the double bed. The loft bed in the bunkie is not included with the rental due to safety concerns.
This cottage has a sizeable and varied waterfront and is built to take advantage of it. Kids will enjoy a grassy space to roam near the shallow, sandy entry at the south end of the property. This is in an area away from the main part of the bay, so there will be no boat traffic here. Through the trees and over to the west side of the cottage takes us to where this property really shines. Multi-level decks and a nice size dock let you enjoy the pleasures of Lake Manitouwabing in whatever form you desire - be it swimming, boating, sunning or relaxing in the shade on a hot day. Majestic west-facing views are perfect for those sunny summer times. A small island is the target of many young adventurers, so a paddle out to it for a picnic snack may be on the cards during your stay. You have a canoe. 2 kayaks and a paddleboat at your disposal, so a flotilla with your entire group is possible.
We know that Internet is important these days, and Manitouwabing Shores makes sure you can keep in touch. An allowance of 20 GB per week is provided. While this isn't for extensive 4K video streaming, it will support a Zoom conference and a few movies on Netflix or Youtube. A DVD player is also provided for movie nights or inclement weather days.
Out and about? Parry Sound is a wonderful town to explore. You'll find all you need in terms of supplies here. You may also want to take in a concert at the Stockey Centre, enjoy a meal on the water down by the harbour, enjoy an island cruise or check out some of the shops. For those who love to read, we recommend an early-in-your-stay visit to Bearly Used Books, where over 100,000 titles at low prices should satisfy the whims of any bookworm.
Manitouwabing Shores is exactly the plan that many families draw up when looking for that treasured cottage vacation - maybe your search is at an end?
