Loon Bay Serenity

The minute we drove up to the cottage for the first time, we knew that we were in for a treat. The cottage is located at the bottom of a long driveway lined by trees, so there are no car or pedestrian traffic noises. It is set on what looks to be a few acres of land, easy and ample parking spaces, surrounded by trees, grass, a couple of gardens, and a walk-out deck from the dining room that overlooks the lake. There are many windows so there’s an abundance of natural light and a gorgeous view of the bay/lake from inside and from the outside deck. Good cross breezes too. Being in the bay and off of the main lake was ideal: quieter and more privacy. We spent many hours on the large L shaped dock that offers space in the sun and the shade, a number of chaise lounges, an umbrella and a lily pad lake mat that is fun for both kids and adults alike. The kitchen is very well equipped: coffee maker, food processor, blender, lots of pots/pans, utensils etc., a dishwasher, microwave, and there is a washing machine on the main floor, which came in handy. We really weren’t wanting for anything. The beds are comfortable, and each room has a ceiling fan, which is nice in the summer. When the kids were small, they would share the bedroom with the bunk bed, which is designed for younger kids, and they’d have a blast! The decor is tasteful, artistic and fun. We’ve rented this cottage both in the summer and fall/winter as it’s equipped for year-round use and we love it both times of the year.
