Kawartha Lakefront Cottage offers the nostalgia of all your best memories made at the lake during childhood summer camps throughout Ontario's cottage country and made it even better, with every toy and amenity you can think of as an adult!
As you make your way down the wooded lanes leading to the cottage, it truly feels as though you are embarking on an adventure. After winding through the forest, Kawartha Lakefront Cottage appears with the private lake bay just steps from the driveway.
It's hard to know what to look at first! To the left you'll hear the running water of the creek with the shorefront storage bunkie complete with it's own covered deck, changing room and chairs to relax in, while looking out into the lake. It's a prefect spot to hide away with a good book! Straight ahead you'll find the impressive cottage and welcoming front lawn, shaded by the huge birch and pine trees.
Once inside you'll find a large foyer and beautifully renovated chef's kitchen to the left. With plenty of island seating and glistening counter tops that go on forever, prepping meals and leaving snacks and crazing boards will be a breeze for everyone. Just beyond the kitchen you'll see the large dining area where everyone can enjoy their meals and even challenge each other to card & board games!
The main focal point on the main floor is the stone fireplace that is front and centre with lake views on either side. Visiting in the winter, just imagine it with a roaring fire and snow falling through the window. With plenty of seating, it's a perfect cozy spot for guests of all ages to relax and unwind together.
For those with a competitive streak, you won't be disappointed with the billiards room, with it's own deck access the lake on the main floor and you'll be even more surprised to find the upper loft has original arcade games and even more chances to reign victorious!
All 6 bedrooms are found on the upper level, along with the games loft. You'll find 2 bunk rooms perfect for children, the primary suite and 3 additional guest rooms for couples. The main bath is a semi-ensuite with soaker tub and separate stand up shower.
The family lodge setting inside is impressive on it's own, so as you venture out onto the deck it will be hard to miss the sandy beach running across the property. With your feet hitting the sand after that last step, you can spend your days enjoying the water, watching little ones build sand castles and wade in or swim off the dock into deeper water. In the winter time, it's the perfect spot for skating and shinny once the ice is safe to venture onto.
Kawartha Lakefront Cottage has something that even we don't see everyday with your typical Ontario cottage rentals. In the summer months, you'll notice a floating cabin, which is actually a sauna! Paddle or swim out to the platform for a chance to experience a blissful sauna while floating on the lake. Outside of the summer season, the sauna is brought into the dock and shoreline for easier access year round.
After full days on the water, you won't want to miss escaping into the screened-in sunroom. Available year round, inside you'll find the hot tub waiting for you to enjoy and a place to sit and enjoy the projector and screen for movie nights or casting the game!
The cottage absolutely has something for everyone to enjoy and fondly look back on for years to come. Children will love bunking with their friends, siblings and cousins and the adults will love feeling like a kid at camp again!

- Highlands Cinemas and Museum.Not just a unique multi-plex theatre featuring currently available movies, it's also a museum showcasing the history of film and kitschy items from each decade, and a cat sanctuary outside! (30 mins)
- Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve.The Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve encompasses 480 hectares (1,186 acres) of central Ontario woodland and wetland, offering a large trail network. (30 mins)
- Somerville Tract Forest Cross Country Ski Trails. 8.7-km loop trail near Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 27 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. (30 minutes).
- Austin Sawmill Heritage Park. The first mill established on this site was built in the 1890s, and was twice burned to the ground.. The Austin Sawmill was recently reconstructed and brought back to life with static displays that illustrate the milling processes that were utilized within the original mill. (30 mins.).
