This one-of-a-kind, heritage cottage rental is situated only steps from the lake, on 10 acres of prime land with 585 feet of natural shoreline on gorgeous Redstone Lake. The privacy of 585 feet of uninterrupted shoreline is truly understood when lounging in the hammock overlooking the lake or sitting on the large dock with lots of space on either side. The cottage weaves the new amenities seamlessly alongside the irreplaceable old. Sitting by the stone fireplace with a crackling fire, reading your favourite book or catching up with family and friends in the bright Haliburton room, that’s where memories are made. The single-floor design allows both young and old to easily navigate the living space.
Recent additions and a brand new deck have been designed to seamlessly blend modern comfort with original cottage charm, capturing a time when things moved a “little slower,” were more relaxed. Our secluded hideaway has definite rustic appeal but with all the modern amenities of home. Cross beams and vaulted ceilings add space and grace to this comfortable, authentic and very private cottage. Beautiful pine floors and walls, bright and spacious rooms, and open living concept, provide space for everyone to enjoy. In addition to the many windows, all living areas have overhead and/or rooms fans providing lots of ventilation.
Amazing lake views start at the dining room table or step out to the ample 410 sq. ft deck spanning the full width of the cottage including a covered BBQ area. The level front or side lot is ideal for activities and games or just sitting together. Take in the shade and open lake views from our private lakeside forest or move to the 16x16ft dock with all day sun to 6pm. Whichever you chose, you have the perfect recipe for fun and relaxation.
The cottage sits a mere 35 feet from the lake on a level lot and comes with 2 kayaks, one canoe and a paddleboat. Three large bedrooms in the main cottage and another in the lovely guest cottage, makes 4, to comfortably sleep 8. Amenities include: TV with streaming services including Netflix, Wifi/unlimited, outdoor and indoor games, washer and dryer, dishwasher, separate stand-up fridge and freezer, gas bbq, patio furniture, 8 Muskoka chairs, fire pit.
Little Redstone is part of 3 lake chain for miles of boating pleasure, stunning vistas and crystal-clear water for swimming. For the avid angler, Redstone boasts a glacial relic “Haliburton Gold” lake trout designated a heritage species, well worth casting out for. We’re at the heart of Ontario’s premier holiday destination and just minutes from the 80,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking and biking trails and world-famous Wolf Centre and Astronomy Observatory. Away from it all but only 20-30 minutes from shopping, golf courses and entertainment and 2.5 hours NE of Toronto.

Things you need to know:
- This cottage is in the Municipality of Dysart et al; Licence # STR-25-00256. The Municipality requires rental guests sign a Rental Guest Code of Conduct. It will be sent to you upon booking for electronic signature.
- A maximum of one medium dog is welcome
- Please note that, according to the municipality’s bylaws, all dogs must be leashed or tethered when outside. Dogs are not permitted to roam leash-free.
- Linens are provided – please bring outdoor towels
- Garbage & recycling disposal is required prior to departure
- Post-departure cleaning is arranged immediately following your checkout. Please ensure the pre-departure cleaning checklist is completed & you have fully checked out of the cottage by your departure time to avoid additional cleaning fees.

- Heating & Cooling: There is no A/C, but most rooms have overhead fans, additional floor fans electric baseboard and fireplace/woodstove are available.
Accessibility
- Relatively easy entry and exit from parking area (few stairs). Doorways are wide enough for walker. Main floor bedroom & bathroom with walk-in shower.
- Few steps with railing down to front lawn with view of waterfront. Some stone steps with 20ft ramp to 16ft x16ft floating dock.
- Easy entry off the dock with a sturdy ladder
Waterfront
Enjoy an expansive 585 feet of pristine waterfront, complete with a pebble-lined wade-in shoreline and deepwater access exceeding 10 feet at the floating dock. The lake bottom is remarkably clean and clear, with no weeds.Sun Exposure
The waterfront is east and south facing. The floating dock has all day sun for most of the summer.Boating
There are 2 public boat launches at 4 km and 12 km. There is a marina 4 km from the cottage for boating supplies on a different lake. The floating dock is 16ft x 16ft, and can accommodate one boat up to 19ft. Cleats/tie downs provided.Close-By Attractions
- Haliburton Forest. Visit a sustainably managed forest that’s open to the public (for a fee), with many kilometres of hiking trails, a lumber museum, a world-renowned Wolf Centre, even take a Walk in the Clouds if you’re feeling adventurous! (5 mins)
- Highlands Summer Festival. The Highlands Summer Festival is held each summer, from June to September, at the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion. A variety of shows, plays, and musical performances are offered.(30 mins)
- Abbey Gardens. This former gravel pit has been transformed into a 300 acre site featuring local food shopping, interpretive trails, heritage breed displays, programming and event spaces, picnic areas, gardens and more! (20 mins)
