We had a lot of fun this week! Cold and wet weather some days but that did not stop us from using the kayaks, canoe, and swimming. Great campfires. Cottage was beautiful and well stocked. All the amenities were enjoyed. Lots of fun for the adults and kids. Large group of 6 adults and 6 kids all slept comfortably!

We spent 7 days away at this beautiful, family-friendly cottage. At first we noticed a few mishaps – the dock floated away prior to arrival and AC was leaking. There were amazing people who responded ASAP (HVAC, dock people, and friendly neighbours). Many ATV trails, and would like to book again next year!

Very great cottage. Clean and private area. So much to do indoors or outdoors. Inside there is different activities in the game room, a movie room, nice bath tubs, etc. Outside there is a beautiful beach and dock, kayaks and a canoe, a nice fireplace, and outdoor games. Would recommend

The cottage exceeded expectations in both design and functionality. It was incredibly spacious, well-constructed, and thoughtfully designed, with a fully equipped kitchen that made our stay comfortable. The morning views were truly breathtaking, accompanied by the peaceful sounds of birds, creating a serene atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the provided kayaks and canoe, which added a great outdoor experience. While the surrounding area offered limited activities, the cottage itself provided a wonderful and relaxing retreat

This is a beautiful property. Great privacy, easy access to the water, and pet-friendly! We had a lot of rainy days and we were able to enjoy our time indoors because the cottage is so spacious and well-equipped. We were very comfortable! Will definitely book with CLRM again. Property was lovely. Very clean and provided everything you could possible need and beyond. Very spacious and room for everyone to have their own space if needed. Views were breathtaking. We had 2 days of rain but did not feel like we missed out on anything as the games room and Netflix kept us all entertained. Beds were so very comfortable. FIVE Stars for sure!

We were a large group of 6 adults, 5 kids, and we’re all dying to head back to Forest Lake Retreat. We rent a cottage every year and can easily say that this rental is at the very top of our list. Top 3 things that really made our stay memorable… Cleanliness, Comfort, and Layout. Upon entering the house (which is easy to do thanks to the keypad, not sure what the other reviewer was referring to) you’re welcome in to a large foyer that’s capable of holding everyone’s flip flops, luggage, and bins. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were spotless! My wife is a clean freak and approves. This attention to detail was seen all throughout the house. The layout is perfect for family dinners and late night movie nights in the basement, or ping pong battles with the kids. There’s plenty of space for everyone and little hideouts if you need your own space. We typically bring our own linens to rental properties but were extremely happy with the pillows and linens provided (felt like a 5-star hotel). Overall an amazing experience and we’ll definitely be back next year!!

Lovely cottage that is almost a 5-star plus. We had an excellent stay with only a few minor issues. The waterfront is awe-inspiring from the deck but is shallow and a bit weedy. Just bring water shoes as suggested in the cottage information. We enjoyed being that this quiet end of the Lake with access to a winding river as well as the larger body of water. We were happily entertained each evening watching the local beaver swimming by. The beds and linens were high quality and comfortable but we could have used more hand towels and washcloths. Liquid hand soap would have been an added benefit over bar soap. The kitchen is modern and loaded with lots of cupboard space to store all your dry goods and a great dining area that easily accommodates 10 adults at one table. We did discover that the supplies were limited. We could have used more wine glasses, (maybe some acrylic stemless ones) more ice cube trays (could use at least 4), large serving spoons, larger bowls for a family-size salad, more cookie sheets (or a larger one), pitchers for mixing drinks (we purchased one), and also another fridge and/or freezer would be great. This cottage has 6 bedrooms, and when bringing food and drinks for the week there is just not enough fridge and freezer space. Even a beverage fridge in the games room would be helpful. Something that would have been helpful is a binder unique to this cottage rather than just generic information. We struggled to get into the cottage as clear instructions were not given about which buttons to push first. We had some issues with the stove and simple instructions would have been helpful. The fire pit was excellent and we enjoyed our times around it even though the bugs this time of year were quite annoying. The ping pong table was enjoyed by all! Would have been nice to have 4 paddles. The canoe and kayaks were enjoyed on this quiet, not too large lake, with a winding river to explore as well. A paddle board would be a nice addition. We found it quite warm at night even in the basement bedrooms. Screens on the windows would have been nice so that the windows could have been opened as it cooled off nicely in the evening and we would have been happy to have the cool night air rather than wasting the air conditioning.

We wanted to thank CLRM and the cottage owner as our family truly had a wonderful and relaxing time at Forest Lake Retreat! Upon arriving at the cottage we were really impressed how impeccably clean it was from top to bottom. The washrooms, kitchen and even the BBQ! The bed linens were of excellent quality and the beds were all clean and comfortable. We all slept wonderfully. The cottage was fully equipped and the kids loved the playroom! We enjoyed having dinner on the deck admiring the incredible view. It was very serene and tranquil. One of the most peaceful cottages we’ve ever stayed at. Kayaking/canoeing along the river felt like a dream. We were in awe with star gazing and got to enjoy the meteor shower- just amazing! We really enjoyed ourselves immensely and fell in love with the house. It was so sad to leave! The guidebook came in handy! Great tool! We look forward to returning next Summer!

Forest Lake Retreat provided the perfect setting for our extended family to enjoy a serene and comfortable vacation together. It is a hidden gem where we relished the unique views, expansive property and recreational activities (e.g. kayaking, canoeing, walking, lawn games, camp fires) at the junction of the river and lake. Inside and out of the cottage, there was plenty of room to spread out and do our own thing, but then to come together for meals and games as well. The fresh and inviting furnishings and decor made us feel right at home. Our week at Forest Lake Retreat was a treat for all of us, including our 2 beloved dogs! Thank you to FLR’s owners and CLRM!

Amazing brand new cottage with everything you could possibly want. We rent annually and this place was by far and away the best property we have ever rented. The amazing privacy and ability to accommodate dogs we’re also major benefits that many premium cottages don’t provide. The rental company was also easy to deal with and very responsive. I’m not one to post reviews but this property is 5 stars all around!
