Welcome to "Fairy-tale Cottage," a delightful 3-bedroom cottage nestled on the serene shores of Fairy Lake in Huntsville. This classic Muskoka retreat combines rustic charm with modern amenities, featuring wooden paneling that enhances its contemporary feel. The main living areas, including the living room, dining area, and kitchen, all face the lake, offering stunning views and plenty of natural light. A walkout from these areas leads to a spacious deck that spans the length of the cottage, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxation.
The three bedrooms and bathroom are located on the driveway side, providing comfortable and cozy accommodations. An entry hall with an extra refrigerator ensures you have ample storage space for groceries, minimizing trips to the store.
Perched on a hill, the cottage features a staircase that descends to the waterfront, creating a scenic and convenient path to the lake. Halfway down the slope, you'll find a cozy fire pit area, perfect for evening gatherings and roasting marshmallows. At the waterfront, the boathouse and dock area offer a variety of activities to enjoy the lake. The upper level of the boathouse boasts a fabulous rooftop deck with panoramic views of Fairy Lake, providing a spectacular setting for morning coffee or sunset cocktails. Things you need to know:
- This cottage is in the Town of Huntsville; Licence # STRA-2024-108. The Municipal STR Licence restricts the cottage to maximum 6 people at any given time during your stay.
- Pets are not permitted
- Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own outdoor towels
- Rentals include a cleaning service; however, the cottage must be left in a tidy condition
- This cottage faces southeast
- Garbage and recycling disposal required upon departure
- Not suitable for electric vehicles
Waterfront
The water off the dock is 5-10 feet with a muddy bottom. It is possible to wade in the to side to the boathouse, but it's rocky and not advised, so the best access is off the dock. It’s mostly clear of weeds in the swimming area. There is no sandy beach.Close-By Attractions
- Arrowhead Provincial Park. 15 km of hiking trails; including a trail leading to a waterfall (Stubb's Falls), rental canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and mountain bikes. (15 mins)
- Santa's Village. It's always Christmas in Bracebridge! Kids will be delighted by this park, full of rides and attractions, and be able to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus too. 60 acres of family fun. (40 mins)
- High Falls Bay Waterpark. High Falls Waterpark is a unique eco-conscious beachfront waterpark in the heart of Muskoka. 1500 ft of sandy beaches on a beautiful private lake and looking directly at three sets of waterfalls, including the magnificent High Falls waterfalls. You can relax on the beach to the sound of the falls, take a boat ride, or enjoy some of the many amenities and services. (25 mins)
- Golfing. There are several courses within 20 minutes from the cottage, including Grandview Golf Club, Huntsville Downs Golf Course, and the two courses at Deerhurst.
- Muskoka Heritage Place. Muskoka Heritage Place takes you back in time to the 1800's. There is plenty of fun for everyone of all-ages at Muskoka Heritage Place, with a variety of activities that are entertaining, educational, and family-friendly. Ride the steam train, visit the steam museum, meet farm animals, take a school lesson in the 1800's style! (5 mins)
