When you think of Ontario cottages, images of pine-panelled walls and burgundy siding may come to mind from childhood vacations. East Cove Lakehouse is a refreshing departure, bringing contemporary luxury to one of Ontario's most beloved cottage country destinations.
Located on the east shore of Sturgeon Lake, between Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon, this luxury retreat is perfectly situated for exploring local restaurants, cafés and shops. Arrive by car or cruise the Trent-Severn Waterway by boat and dock in town for a unique day trip.
From the moment you arrive, you'll appreciate the attention to detail throughout the home and beautifully landscaped property. Inside, a soaring wall of windows frames spectacular lake views, filling the open-concept living space with natural light. The designer kitchen features peninsula seating and everything needed for entertaining, while the inviting dining and living areas centre around a stunning stone fireplace. The main level also offers a queen guest bedroom, full bathroom, and a luxurious primary suite with a king bed, lake views, and a spa-inspired ensuite.
The lower level includes a second lounge with a TV, a well-equipped fitness room with free weights and a treadmill, and a resort-style steam shower for relaxing after a day on the water.
Outside, the expansive deck features a ceramic BBQ and a stylish fire table overlooking the lake. A gently sloping lawn leads to the waterfront, where a large lakeside sundeck offers breathtaking sunset views. Guests should note there are both natural stone and wooden steps leading to the waterfront, making access less suitable for those with mobility limitations. The shoreline feels surprisingly private, with excellent deep-water swimming, space to dock your boat, and a second fire table to enjoy evenings by the water.
