Save $1500 at East Cove Lakehouse June Through to September 2!!
When you think of Ontario Cottages, images of pine paneled walls and deep burgundy siding may come to mind from childhood vacations. East Cove Lakehouse is an absolute departure, bringing contemporary and modern to a well-beloved cottage country area.
Located in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes, East Cove Lakehouse is a perfect luxury cottage rental nestled on the east shore of Sturgeon Lake, between Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon. It's an ideal spot for trips into local restaurants, cafes and shops, whether you choose to drive into town or take your boat and float through the Trent Severn Waterway, docking in town while you explore, for a completely different experience!
As you arrive, you will immediately notice the view and attention to details that have been paid both to the cottage itself and the grounds. Visiting in late fall, we can just picture the hydrangea in full bloom and the rolling green lawn down to the waterfront during the warmer months.
Stepping into the foyer, you're immediately drawn to the wall of windows overlooking the lake. The interior and design could easily be found in a magazine, showcasing the natural light and colour palette. To the right of the foyer is the main bath and queen guest suite, while straight ahead, the space is shared with the dining and gathering areas. The kitchen is perfect for entertaining with peninsula seating and every amenity a chef could ask for. It is bright and inviting, perfect for grazing boards and catching up with friends. Continuing beyond the gorgeous stone fireplace, the primary suite will not disappoint, sharing the same view of the lake, it features a beautifully tiled ensuite bathroom and a king-sized bed. With how spacious the master bedroom is, it will feel like a retreat all of its own!
Down the staircase into the lower level, you'll find another gathering space with seating and a TV. Just around the corner, you will find a well-equipped personal gym! Guests are welcome to use the free weights and treadmill to maintain their fitness routines (and work off the cottage meals!) but we ask that caution is used with any equipment you may not be familiar with. Across from the fitness area, there is another beautifully tiled bathroom complete with a steam shower and another king guest bedroom.
Outside of the cottage, the deck spans the back of the cottage, complete with a ceramic BBQ and a resort-worthy firepit that is sure to thrill those that have been counting down the days until s'mores and campfire songs & stories! Overlooking the lake, the yard begins to slope down to the shoreline. Just before reaching the natural stone steps to the sundeck, you'll notice a bunkie, complete with a double bed, for guests who would like a bit more privacy or teens hoping to hide away from the crowd.
Once you're on the very large sundeck, the views are incredible. Watching the sunset on this incredible waterside sundeck will be a definite highlight of the trip! Given the distance to the water, guests with mobility limitations should note that there are both natural stone and wooden steps to access the waterfront sundeck and then down to the water's edge and dock. It truly is a stunning spot along the shore that feels surprisingly private, with the boat house on one side and neighbours farther down to the other. There is great deep water swimming off the dock and plenty of space to secure your boat during your stay!
Given the cottage layout and access to the waterfront, East Cove Lakehouse is ideally suited to hosting friends and families with older children.
