Butterfly Cottage

Gorgeous property… the cottage has tons of potential . Lots of space. Too bad the water area is not cared for as it would be a lovely area for kids to play and swim. The cottage needs some tlc .. some windows have torn screens so you can’t open them and the only two windows in the living room have no screens. The fan in the Sun room does not work and we were told by the handyman that it never has.. having the fan working would have made a huge difference, mostly in the recent heat wave. There are however a few stand up fans which is great ! As well the fire pit is right beside the water., which is extremely far away when you have an infant in bed.. The property is huge so I think the fire pit could be moved a little closer to the cottage. We were told we could not. It’s great to have 3 toilets with a big group but all of them run on constantly. Kitchen is well stocked but no knives !!! We are enjoying our stay very much and feel if the cottage got some true tlc it would be worth the price charged.

This is a lovely cottage that has much potential and we enjoyed our stay there for the most part. There are a couple of things to consider, though, if you choose to rent here. First, it is a substantially long walk to the lake from the cottage, which is normally not a problem unless, like us, you have anyone in your party with mobility issues. We managed, but it was a struggle at times. Having said that, there is tons of room for playing any kind of outdoor game you might want, which is a bonus for some!! Second, unless the owner updates the deck at the front of the cottage, I would be leary of having small children out there. It is an old style deck with few safety features (think Swiss chalet type deck) and there are some punky spots on it. This has been reported to CLRM and hopefully that will be remedied before next season. Speaking of CLRM, our thanks to Christina who was very responsive to our concerns from the get go about the cleanliness of the cottage when we first arrived. This was addressed the same day and my hope is that in future the place would be thoroughly cleaned before new renters come in. After all, renters are charged a cleaning fee and we expected it to be clean when we arrived. Aside from that we did have a good week and managed to catch enough fish off the dock for a beautiful meal!

Very beautiful property, lots of space for outdoor activities including canoeing swimming fire pit and bbq area Inside has a really nice living room and dining room area where your family can eat play board games or relax bye the tv for a family movie night … great experience was sad to leave but there is always next year
