What an amazing week we had at Birdsong! Our family visited for a week in August (the only cool-ish week in the whole summer!) and even though the weather wasn’t 100% optimal, we had a fantastic time! Our kids (1 1/2 and 6) and dog (German Shepherd) loved playing on the beach and in the shallow, warm, sandy lake. My brother taught our son how to fish, and fishing to the right of the dock was IDEAL for young kids. One day I think my 6 year old caught 12 fish, within a 2 hour window (it was such a hit!). He caught large and smallmouth bass, blue gill & pumpkin seed. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped (in fact, the whole cottage was), we didn’t go missing for a thing! The BBQ spot was a great hit, as was the campfire pit. Having some firewood provided was a nice touch too! We got to hear a moose (twice), although we didn’t ever see him. We also saw an otter, chipmunks, a snake, lots of frogs. So cool! Having the bedrooms on the lower level was a great feature, it meant we could put the kids to bed and then play cards upstairs, without worrying about them waking up. All in all a great vacation and we hope to come back in years to come! Thank you CLRM & cottage owners for making our trip to Dunchurch one to remember <3

Beautiful cottage with lovely owners! We had rented another cottage that was damaged 3 weeks before our rental date; therefore cancelling our trip. The owners of Birdsong and CLRM were extremely helpfully with finding us a new cottage for the same timeframe and similar price. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and we are extremely grateful. The cottage is beautiful, cozy and charming. It has all the amenities you could ask for and lots of equipment for outdoor activities. The water is warm and calm. Having a tea on the dock in the morning, listening to the bullfrogs and the birds, was pure heaven. The lake itself is not very busy and great for canoeing. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience and we hope to be back soon.

A great weekend away with the girlfriends. The little sandy beach, warm water and beautiful lake is enough to bring you back here. The property is well maintained, kitchen well stocked. Very comfortable cottage with many amenities including a screened-in gazebo, wrap-around deck and lots of water toys.

I came up here for the first time this week with my mum, 2 sisters, brother-in-law, niece Clare, Ted the dog, and boyfriend Winger. We spent the first few days sunning ourselves, enjoying the lake and boating, as well as the incredible view. And then…I found myself sitting at the end of your dock this evening with Wing at sunset when he opened a box in front of me while on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Woohoo!!! What a beautiful place to have dreams come true. Now we will have to celebrate our anniversary or several here! Thanks for the gorgeous property and cottage to make a lifetime of memories.Awesome!

Thank you for sharing “Birdsong” with us for our annual family vacation. Our boys loved the beach and tried their hand at fishing from the dock. The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped. I loved the kitchen and the great view while doing dishes and preparing meals. Your kitchen is inspiring renovation plans for my kitchen and home.Although we had several rainy days that kept us from the beach and lake, we enjoyed all the games and puzzles.We were also lucky to be here for the 125th annual Dunchurch Fall Fair. It was a highlight for us as our boys got to enjoy candy floss, petting zoo and lots of hay.Thanks again!

Dear Sullivans,We had a wonderful time at your cottage. Although our stay was short, it was the most memorable 3-day get away from the busy city and from our hectic schedules. From the time we parked our vehicle at the cottage had already given us the “HOMEY” feeling and we felt good that we made the right choice and will definitely come back. To top it all, the cottage had everything anyone can possibly need. No need for boat rides or campfire.
