A week after the winter solstice we were at the cottage for three days. Found it quite comfortable though one of the teenagers said his couch bed was saggy. The power failed — as it often does in cottage county in the winter– but it was for only three hours and in the daytime. The woodburning heater kept us warm. Advice: keep your mobile phones charged and have the makings for a sandwich or other cold meal. A pleasant few days of food and walking and books and a huge crossword that everyone joined in. We’d rent again.

CON: Water pressure was VERY LOW to almost non-existent! Couldn’t flush the toilet & wash your hands at the same time. PRO: Well taken care of – by both owner & CLRM. The original booking was for May 2021 but due to COVID Lockdowns, we were able to rebook in September. Unfortunately, there was so much rain leading up to our week that the river overflowed the embankment. Luckily, the pool table, air-hockey table & DVD player entertained us! Thank you!

What a lovely, private retreat for us and our two adult sons! We all enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the peaceful river. The cottage is spacious, clean and well-stocked. The mosquitoes put a damper on outdoor evening activities, but that’s when the pool games began!

My family and I loved this cottage. The games room was used a lot by the kids and the lake was very peaceful. The location is great as it’s only a few minutes into town if you need anything. I would suggest adding a bit more detail to the cottage guide. It would be good to know where the kayaks etc were located ahead of time. The kitchen was well laid out with lots of pots and pans but there were no campfire spears we could find for roasting marshmallows. A few more chairs for the campfire would also be welcomed. Overall, recommend the cottage!

AMAZING, COZY, COMFORTABLE, CONVENIENT LOCATION

The start of my stay was tense, i could not get the key to open any of the doors. one phone call, answered right away and i gained entrance! Once inside the holiday began and everything was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely place! The kitchen had everything you could want, plenty of dishes and most important a coffee maker! The music in every room was enjoyable, wish i could get the moose at home. Lots of extra blankets and pillows, seating everywhere did not feel crowded. It is much larger than i had hoped plenty of room for my family of 5. Hope to stay again!

Everything you could want is there, the kitchen is so well stocked with all the equipment you could need for any meal. We visited this cottage last year and loved kayaking on the river, there were four kayaks for us to use and we could not wait to return. This year we got there and they had 6, everyone could go out at the same time, the fall leaves where on full display. So beautiful, so peaceful, now all i do is wonder why i didn’t book a week off work! Next year for sure.

This property was amazing. We really enjoyed waking up every morning and being able to go sit on the dock and fish. We loved the fact that they had a pool table and an air hockey table for rainy days. Even though it didn’t rain we still played a few rounds. My 8 year old son did not want to leave on Saturday we when had to check out he was having too much fun. My husband and son enjoyed using the kayaks. It was nice that you weren’t too far from town yet not too close to others as well. The place was very clean, lots of room to read,watch dvd’s play games. It was so nice to see the little cards and notes left letting you know how much the owners care for this property. The whole cottage is stocked with everything I couldn’t believe how well stocked it was. Very nice, peaceful and quiet all the things we look for when going on summer holidays. 1 week just didn’t seem like it was long enough. I will for sure be wanting to book this place again. Thank you again for letting us stay at this wonderful cottage.

Beautiful cottage and property! Bankside had everything AND MORE that we could want. The property is secluded and private and we enjoyed swimming right off the dock! We didn’t have much luck fishing but enjoying the beautiful scenery more than made up for it!
