Sturgeon Lake
Sturgeon Lake is a large, shallow lake in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, covering about 11,600 hectares. It is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway, making it popular with boaters who enjoy cruising between lakes and passing through nearby locks. The shoreline features a mix of open farmland views, wooded stretches, and established cottage communities.
Fishing is a major draw, with walleye, muskellunge, smallmouth bass, and perch commonly caught. Cottages range from cozy seasonal cabins to spacious four-season waterfront homes with private docks and wide lake views. Nearby towns such as Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon offer shops, restaurants, and summer events, adding small-town charm to a relaxed lake lifestyle.
