My husband, Andrew, and I have been fortunate enough to stay at Bancroft Lake House four times since it was added to CLRM’s inventory in 2016. Attending the Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft, every November, has been a tradition for Andrew, his dad, Bill, and our friend Mike, since Andrew and Mike were just kids. When I started tagging along, I wanted something a little more than a hotel room could offer. After working with CLRM for a few years, the perfect property became available!
We’ve traveled with Mike and his fiance, Lexy, each year. As our families have grown, we’ve appreciated the space and unique set-up Bancroft Lake House has to offer.
With 3 bedrooms + a den, it’s a great spot to visit with young children or for an adult-only getaway. The set-up of Bancroft Lake House is like no other cottage I’ve visited, which we’ve found works well for two families traveling together. All 3 bedrooms are quite separate from one another & from the living areas (family/dining room and den) which makes putting little ones down for a nap or an earlier bedtime a breeze while we stay up to watch movies and play games.
The large kitchen is great for preparing multiple meals at once. Since we spend so much of our time out of the cottage, watching the rally, we tend to cook breakfast, throw lunch in the crockpot and start dinner prep all at the same time!
The two full bathrooms, each attached to a bedroom, allow each couple/family to have their own bathroom, which is a nice added bonus.
As you can see from the photos, our dogs steal the spotlight! Aside from the location, we initially chose this cottage because it’s pet-friendly and welcomes all dogs. Quattro and Diesel always love coming to Bancroft Lake House with us! With a large deck, flat yard, lake and even a dog bed to snooze on, they certainly feel right at home here.
Since my son, Ryker, was born in 2018, we have included him in our annual getaway and hope he values the tradition we have started with him as he grows up. The great thing about Bancroft Lake House for little ones is that it’s all on one level, so we don’t need to worry about stairs or being on a different floor than him. The large, open concept living room/dining room is a great spot to relax with a cup of coffee while keeping a close eye on young children.
As you can see, I love Bancroft Lake House and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
