About This Cottage

Nestled within a cove, between Hoover Point and Peacock Point on the shores of Lake Erie is where you'll find Erie Rock Haven - and where you'll want to stay. Erie Rock Haven is a simple paradise. A cosy bedroom, 3-piece bath and an open kitchen/living/dining area with a panoramic view makes this a perfect spot for couples, honeymooners and small families to enjoy an upscale experience at a downscale price.

This peaceful, serene property boasts its own private shoreline where you can walk out into the water and touch three sandbars with your toes (no motorized boating here, the water is too shallow), nature at her finest. Home to a variety of bird species from the sweet buzzing of the Hummingbird to the majestic and magnificent American Bald Eagle. The fish are literally jumping. The bass, pickerel and perch are renowned in this part of Lake Erie, a fisherman's dream - and the boat launch and marina are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy the spectacular sunrise overlooking the Lake from the Adirondack chair on the deck with your morning coffee while nature rises to the new day. Enjoy your favourite novel from the second level deck overlooking the Lake or under a shady tree, then an afternoon swim in the warm waters on your own private beach. An afternoon nap with a cool summer's breeze listening to the waves of water are a must!

You may want to venture out and tour the famous town of Port Dover for a Perch dinner and a play at the Lighthouse Theatre. For the more adventurous type, take a trip into Turkey Point for a zodiac boat ride to Long Point where zip lining may be for you. Sample the wine from local wineries and savour the fine cheeses of Jensen cheese in the Town of Simcoe. For a more local flavour, stroll into the quaint little village of Peacock Point for an ice cream cone or a game of bingo or a street party. With a scenic lake view and low traffic, the area is perfect for cyclists.

Mostly though, you'll want to coccoon yourself in the relaxation that is Erie Rock Haven. You can barbecue your own food for dinner and sit at your dining room table in a gazebo overlooking the spectacular view. Afterwards enjoy a campfire, roasting marshmallows and star gazing over the lake. Sleep to the sound of the waves and feel the night breeze as you drift into the most relaxing sleep.

Sound good? Experiencing it is even better!
