About This Cottage

Sea Breeze was recently professionally renovated by the tv show Income Property!

This idyllic location right on the shores of Lake Ontario has a shoreline that offers hard sand bottom and shallow water up to mid to late August then an expanse of sandy beach appears when the water levels change. The cottage is pretty great too.

Only 1 hour and 20 minutes east of Toronto (125 km), this quiet and relaxing lakefront cottage sits on a large grassy and private lot. The spectacular southerly view is the most striking aspect of the location and at night you can see the lights of Rochester across the water. The patio is a great spot to enjoy the views and a set of steps (about 12 stairs) leads from this deck down to the water. which is around a foot deep with hard sand underfoot. There is a sandy beach that is revealed in late summer as the Lake Ontario water levels recede, however this is not a guaranteed event as it depends on many factors, including spring rainfall and levels of spring run-off. There is a small public beach to one side.

The lawned gardens have lots of seating on the patio. With a barbecue, firepit and plenty of garden lighting, we can imagine many evenings spent outside listening to the waves lapping at the shore and marvelling at the canopy of stars. The 6-person hot tub with 30 jets and a waterfall feature can be enjoyed year-round.

Entrance to the cottage leads into a living area with sliding doors to the deck and an open-plan living and dining area. The space has been used effectively to create a delightful sitting room with a bookcase packed full of DVDs and paperbacks. There's lots of board games in the armoire so you won't be short of things to do if the weather is less than perfect. The two bedroms are off the living area - one has a queen, the other has a double bed with single bunk over top. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped and has a full size fridge and dishwasher along with laundry facilities. There is a large bathroom off the kitchen.

This is one of the Great Lakes so expect the water to be unpredictable at times with occasional stormy weather offering some of natures great visuals! Watercraft are not provided at this cottage because of this, however you can rent a boat from nearby Brighton Harbourfront Marina. Enjoy the local towns of Colborne, Brighton, and Cobourg and revel in the countryside of Northumberland county to the north. There's cross country skiing in the Northumberland Forest and down hill at Batawa Ski Hill or at Brimacombe, near Oshawa.

This is a terrific location for being as active or relaxed as you want. With plenty to see and do in the area - Presquile Provincial Park within a short distance, and famed Sandbanks a 40 minute drive - as well as the picturesque towns of Cobourg and Port Hope close by, you won't be short of things to do.

The thing about Lake Ontario is that it seems to constantly change its appearance. Blues, purples and pinks. The lake appears to be an ocean, with a view that can put you anywhere and everywhere in the world. This property has a view that you can sit back and watch or walk into and live. Your choice!!!!!

Exactly as described. We had a girls weekend and this place was exactly what we were looking for. Close enough to do a winery tour and just to hang out at cottage with the breath taking views from the hot tub. The kitchen was so great to prepare meals in, we really had a great time and will be back!

Sea Breeze was absolutely beautiful both inside and out!! We will always remember the spectacular unobstructed lake view that looked like an ocean. The lovely cottage had gorgeous grounds right to the waters edge and was completely private and easily accessed . Waking up each morning being able to relax with all of the amenities of the kitchen allowed us enjoy a coffee on a very large back deck with comfortable chairs and also was accommodating for my 91 yrs Mom and 3 month old grandson. Because Sea Breeze was a bungalow it was accessible for a walker and stroller and so was the whole property. Not only did we enjoy the property immensely but also all of the communities near by offering quaint boutique shopping, delicious restaurants, wineries , pubs and sensational country drives of rolling farmland.Any concerns or questions we had were addressed promptly by the management team who were a pleasure to meet along with the owners. We are thankful that Glen and Shamala are kind to offer their beautiful home as a rental vacation property. We look forward to coming again !!!!!

There was no disappointment with the rental of this cottage . From the moment we walked in till the moment we left I felt so comfortable. The location is unbelievable. The property is stunning . The beds are extremely comfortable with good quality linens . The kitchen is equipped with the best of the best , the living room has all the comforts of home . Check in was a BREEZE and leaving was the worst part .

Our family of 4 loved our stay at the Sea Breeze . The Cottage was lovely, contemporary, well designed, clean and had every amenity. The owners were easily reachable and responsive as well. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub nearly every day. The view of Lake Ontario from the cottage was amazing as was the sound of the waves. Was reminiscent of the ocean. Overall we would certainly love to return to the property.
