Otter Lake Cottage
About This Cottage
The owners of Otter Lake Cottage spent many years living here on the shores of Otter Lake in a beautiful protected bay, and now that they are moving a short distance away into Parry Sound, they are delighted to be able to share this special spot with you. A very easy drive from Highway 400 but very secluded from neighbours, Otter Lake Cottage bristles with the Canadian Cottage experience.
The cottage is nestled in trees perched atop Canadian Shield rock, and enjoys a varied and extensive shoreline with forest floor pathways to the keys spots of the property. Note that there is a rail line that runs through most of Parry Sound Cottage Country and you may hear the occasional train as it passes through.
The main cottage greets you at the end of the driveway. There is a deck here if you'd like to sit and enjoy the sun while the family chef barbeques the meal. Entering the cottage puts you int the kitchen and dining area. Everything you need is here in a comfortable setting for indoor dining when you aren't dining on one of the decks. The kitchen and dining room overlook the living area, with TV and wood fireplace, and the living room in turn overlooks the treed waterfront.
This level features 3 of the 4 bedrooms and the main bath, as well as the master en suite. Downstairs you will find another bedroom, the family room and access to a walkout deck and another 3-piece bath as well as the laundry area.
Let's explore the waterfront - down the deck stairs and a short walk leads to a gazebo with a picnic table with a pine accented view of the lake. This is a very peaceful area and the perfect sport for an outdoor meal or a board game. A little further down a path and a small flight of stairs and we find ourselves winding past shield rock to get to the dock area. Did we mention the sauna, by the way? It's down here by the waterfront. Swimming is just fine here with a shallow sandy walk in for children and waders. A small porch on the sauna building makes a nice sitting area. Take a ride on the paddle boat and explore the lake a little. The cottage will patiently wait for you.
Parry Sound is very close by for all your shopping needs as well as offering quaint shops and some nice restaurants. This cottage was home to the owners for years...make it all yours for a week!
