About This Cottage

Once you cross the five-arch bridge in Pakenham and take the turning signposted White Lake, you’ll really know you’re on vacation.  Only an hour from Ottawa and with picturesque small towns within a short driving distance, this location will delight activity lovers, country enthusiasts and water babies alike.  And this dazzling ‘cottage’ is pretty spectacular too with its bright, crisp, clean feel contrasting with the green and blue of the surrounding forest and lake.

Architecturally designed and stylishly presented, this property could grace the cover of an interiors magazine, but it’s easy to feel at home in the spacious accommodation.   The first thing you’ll notice is the light filled space, which together with an abundance of white creates an enjoyable cool ambiance for the hot summer weeks.

The main floor has a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living room with comfortable furniture, a dining table with seating for 10 along with several stools at the breakfast bar.  The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances, and gourmet lovers will enjoy spending time preparing meals in the well-designed space.  Doors open onto a sun room and then onto the deck overlooking the lake – the fabulous views will take your breath away.

Up to date technology is evident throughout the cottage from the geothermal heating and cooling system to the entertainment systems and hi-speed internet access.  Hobbyists will love the office/hobby room on the upper level with wide workspace for computing, quilting etc, while games/card players have the table on the mezzanine to use if they want to play or do a jigsaw in the evening.

There are two bedrooms on the lower floor with a bathroom and separate shower room.  A walkout to the waterfront means guests on this level can take a quick run out for a morning swim without disturbing anyone else. The main floor has a large bedroom and bathroom, while the upper floor has a large master suite with private bathroom.

And then there’s the outside with fabulous waterfront for diving off the dock, sitting out to enjoy the sunset or wading out in the shallow area.  Enjoy swimming, fishing or just give up any idea of being active and laze in the sun all day in this very private space.   Check the links below for things to do and see in the area – it’s a vacationers playground!

Trivia

Galini Lakehouse was perfect for a much needed ladies getaway! The house is beautiful inside and out, well stocked and nicely laid out. The setting is spectacular with a gorgeous view and lovely waterfront. It's very peaceful and feels very private because of the location of other cottages. And the owners were very responsive to any questions before and during arrival. We loved our time at the Galini Lakehouse and we would highly recommend it, especially for larger groups as it can easily and comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

We were 3 families who rented the Galini Lakehouse for New Year’s and we really enjoyed the beauty and commodity of the cottage! We hope to see it in the summertime as well, and enjoy it fully! Our kids did not want to leave, and that’s usually a good sign! We would definitely return!

Our family of 12 visited for Victoria Day long weekend. We had such an amazing time. Our kids didn’t want to leave with how much fun they were having. I must say that this property is even more beautiful than what you see in the pictures but what you see in the pictures is true it’s not deceiving in anyway. I can not wait to book an come back again. We even had a chance to interact with some of the neighbors and the area and the people in town are very friendly. Coming from the city we are not very use to the septic ideal so the smell from the well with the Sulphur threw us off the first day. But it is safe to cook with and bathe etc. Reaching out to the owner he was very professional and understanding and was able to reassure us and handle any concerns we had. This property is a gem.

Only reason not 5 stars.. Sulfur smell from using water was very strong, would have been nice to have an air purifier or something available to remove the smell. The location was fantastic and the home layout perfect for our family.

Our family of 10 were most comfortable in the spacious lakehouse. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Thanksgiving supper at the generous sized table was a highlight. Many happy memories were made. A slight reservation was the high odoured water that was attended to immediately when reported, to the best of their ability.
