About This Cottage

We always like to see a well renovated cottage that captures the flavour of the setting, the mood of the area and the expectations of the rental market. Scoring high in every one of these areas is Annie's Lake House, on the shore of Lake Couchiching just south of Washago. This cottage blends classic pine motif with modern touches to bring you a top notch rental experience for small and medium size groups year round.

In the summer, you'll love the sunsets, whether you take them in from the waterfront just around the time you are lighting the campfire or from the living room while you get ready for a movie, a game or just conversation with friends or family. In the winter, you'll feel comfy and cozy here after a day on the lake snowshoeing or ice-fishing. Maybe you'll want to spend the evening in, sharing a bottle of wine, or perhaps you'll venture a short distance down the lake shore to Casino Rama to try your luck or take in a concert.

The cottage is a raised bungalow format. A half flight of stairs takes you from the entrance to the main level, where you will find the open concept living/kitchen/dining area, complete with a view of the lake. There is also a bedroom with en suite on this level. Downstairs you will find the other two bedrooms as well as a walkout level seating area and a bunk bed for additional sleeping flexibility. The middle level has a spectacular main bath as well as a foyer seating area - the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and a good book.

Satellite TV lets you keep up with the real world, but we think you'll want to soak up the cottage atmosphere. With appealing off season rates, Annie's make a great weekend getaway for couples as well! We hope this is the one you've been looking for.

July 2019
We stayed in Annie’s House during July 2019 and had a fantastic weeks stay. We found it easily from the directions provided and it certainly had the wow factor on arrival. The house is super clean and well maintained and has everything you need to cater for a week. We utilised the awesome balcony lots and also the little paddle boat which was lots of fun. The lake was safe to swim in and we did this a few times too. It is well located for taking trips to several local places such as Gravenhurst, Huntsville and Algonquin National Park - which we did during our trip. We never quite got Orillia and possibly missed what it had to offer but got lost in the mass of roads and shops every time we tried to go there! Overall we totally recommend this house for relaxing and family fun. The 7 hour flight from Scotland was totally worth it, you never truly know what you are getting when you book online, but Annie’s House exceeded our expectations.

We loved our week stay at this beautiful cottage. It had absolutely everything we needed to make our cottage vacation special. The owners are super nice and very accommodating! We had some trouble with the ice maker and they immediately brought over a bag of ice and a bottle of wine! The property had a beautiful dock for fishing and sunning. The perfect fire pit for our nightly fires. The cottage is close to excellent restaurants and shopping. Nothing was missing! Would rent it again in a second! We miss “our” cottage already! Special thanks to Tracey and Rob!

We had a wonderful time at Annie's Lake House. Even if the weather had been bad, the cottage was well equipped for indoor life. The only thing missing is a blender for drinks. Room sizes were good and no one was crowded. The space is well developed to encourage great meals and outdoor fun. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps a few more large flat stones for easier access into the water. However, this is a very small thing to change. Our stay was very nice and we would consider renting again. Thank you!!

We had a fantastic time! The cottage was pristine, kitchen had all the basic essentials, we loved the kayaks, kids had the best time fishing off the dock, close to some nice beaches and restaurants. We would return in a heartbeat!

I brought my parents to the cottage for a quick weekend escape and now they're seriously considering moving to cottage country, and I don't blame them. This cottage is simply stunning - from the two red Muskoka chairs greeting you out front, to the private jetty and lake access to the rear. We won't forget our smore campfires by the lake anytime soon. Definitely a place to make memories. The location of this cottage is also incredibly convenient for anyone driving to/from Toronto, and if you need anything during your stay, Orillia and Washago are nearby for any last minute items you may forget to bring, although the cottage is more than well equipped, and can easily sleep 6 adults with ample space. Total home away from home, and if I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Thanks again, Tracey and Rob. We will definitely be back!

Six awesome women had a lovely, fun weekend at Annie's Lake House near Washago, Ontario. The communication for arranging was easy and smooth, we arrived to a lovely welcome basket with wine and homemade goodies-- thorough instructions and helpful area info. The cottage is gorgeous, beautifully renovated and decorated, plenty of space for the six of us, beds were comfy, linen was great, kitchen was very well equipped and modern, views were spectacular from the big upper balcony, firepit was appreciated for our fun evening campfire. Cottage was in great proximity to Orillia shopping and restaurants, and lakeside for boating activities. We had a fabulous time and hope to make it an annual event at Annie's Lake House!!
