The Georgian Bay area near Parry Sound is peppered with islands of all shapes and sizes, and those islands are in turn peppered with all manner of cottages. There is something special about the peaceful solitude of an island cottage and they offer something special for those willing to leave their vehicles parked.
Georgian Bay Escape is exactly what you might expect of a Parry Sound/Muskoka summer island cottage. Just a short 15-minute boat ride from the Georgian Bay Marina, this cottage on Maclaren Island awaits you. Experienced boaters will have absolutely no trouble getting to Georgian Bay Escape...in fact even those with little experience should be able to find their way here - although it's a 15-20 minute ride, it is not a complicated one. But if piloting a boat isn't your thing, a water taxi is readily available for hire from a couple of local marinas.
When you disembark at the dock, the cottage peeks out at you from behind the cedars. A short walk up the boardwalk from the dock and you're there. Georgian Bay Escape is a classic 3-bedroom Panabode cottage, complete with a traditional wood finish throughout. A fireplace constructed from local stone highlights the main living room, and here you'll also find an entertainment centre and WiFi - although you are enjoying the peaceful isolation that an island cottage affords, no one says you have to lose touch with the world. There is a 2-piece washroom in the cottage, and a short trip down another boardwalk takes you to a unique feature of this property - the outdoor shower...private and a unique way to enjoy the outdoors.
You will no doubt want to spend a lot of time at the waterfront here, and Georgian Bay Escape doesn't let you down in this respect. Plenty of dockside seating along with a nice selection of boats lets you fully enjoy the waterfront here. The cottage is set on a large point, offering great privacy and a variety of views and frontage. A trip down Indian Dock Channel will take you to the open waters of Georgian Bay, or you may simply want to navigate to Craganmor Resort or the world-famous Henry's Fish restaurant for a meal or two. Exploring the islands and bays by canoe or kayak is also popular here. You may also wish to spend a day or two back at the mainland in Parry Sound, enjoying the shops, restaurants and cultural attractions there.
Whatever your leaning, we think this will be a special spot for many families, and invite YOU to escape!
During guest stays, the owner stays in a bunkie on adjacent land, and while he is there to address issues or concerns in a timely manner should they occur, your privacy will be respected.
