Kasshabog is a beautiful, healthy lake on the Canadian Shield, with a very long granite shoreline, dominated by windswept white pines growing from fissures in the rock. Just under 2 ½ hours from the GTA, this beautiful Ontario cottage rental is located on a quiet bay off the main lake, within 30 minutes of Havelock and 45 minutes of Apsley. Nearby Crown land is perfect for hiking and wildlife watching, or take a quick drive to local parks including Petroglyphs Provincial Park, Warsaw Caves and Silent Lake.
This Kawartha cottage rental has a large, fully equipped dine-in kitchen (the table seats 6), along with a dishwasher. The living area is furnished with comfortable over-sized couches and a wood burning stove, perfect to cozy up with at night! There are lots of puzzles and games you're welcome to use for entertainment, but please note there is no TV at this cottage. With both Wi-Fi (rural Wi-Fi) and cell phone services, the cottage is also a perfect remote-working destination.
Outside, you'll find an upper deck overlooking the waterfront with an outdoor dining table, a large dock with deep, clean water for swimming, an upper dock, and a fire pit, along with plenty of firewood, so you can enjoy great conversations with s'mores or marshmallows in the evenings.
At the waterfront you'll find great swimming off the dock, use of 2 SUPs, 1 canoe, 3 child-sized kayaks, and 1 adult kayak. The Crown land beside the cottage provides a great sense of privacy, and is perfect for those who enjoy spending time in nature and wildlife. You'll maybe be able to spot beavers, otters, porcupines, herons, loons, blue jays, deer, wild turkeys and of course, lots of chipmunks!
