The hosts were very accommodating supplying everything we needed. The cottage was very clean & spacious. We didn’t have to worry about anything other than enjoying our time. The amenities were great. Lots to see & do that were close to the cottage.

First off the location so close to the city was fantastic. The cottage itself is amazing! Open concept living room with vaulted ceilings and lots of bedrooms and spaces to sleep plenty. There was a great dock in front of the area with beautiful lake views and an area to enter the water behind the property as well. The kayaks and Canoe were a lot of fun. The only negative thing I can say is that the lake tends to have a lot of weeds so make sure to bring your water shoes. Great vacation overall.

This cottage was everything we hoped for. It was exactly as described – only it was better in person. They had new deck and dock couches (which aren’t pictured) and made it more comfortable. The water was warm and great depth for kids to swim. There were mats laid in the water to keep the weeds at bay from the immediate swimming area, which was very nice. We used the kayaks daily and could kayak right around the penicillia. The cottage was fully equipped and also stayed cool with the AC as we had some extremely muggy days. The fire out back was fun for all (with real Muskoka chairs) and there were beautiful sunsets every night. The rooms were well suited for our needs and every bed was very comfortable. We had a super two weeks and would definitely go back again!

This cottage is very comfortable and great for families with young children. Netflix, pool table and a kid paddle boat are all appreciated by my kids. Kitchen well stocked, living room large and comfortable, outside views are the best. And we also appreciate the gift from the owner. We are willing to come back in the future

This is a wonderful property, we had a great time with our family, it was nice having water on two sides, the size of the cottage was perfect, and lots of play room outside for the little ones. We had everything and more, it was well stocked. The beds are very comfortable. The cottage is well kept and tidy. We are planning on returning hopefully in the fall and next year.

The cottage was everything that I expected and more. The fact that you have both sunrise and sunset makes it very unique. The owners have obviously thought about what is needed and provided everything. A place that I plan to come back to in the future. EC

Heaven: Sorry, but I don’t have proper words to describe it – just interjections (Oh! Ah! Wow!.. etc). (Let me give the owners of the cottage a word of advice: It would be nice to have White Bath Robes with slippers for every guest. (See “Hotel Bellagio”, Vegas, USA)) Hell: No-no, not for people – for Jim – our dog: we kept him inside the cottage all the time – because of road in the front of the cottage. Certainly, in this is part of our own guilt – we didn’t read the description of the cottage carefully enough. And now – we’re sorry. To calm down our self, we decided to explain to Jim, “that there’s not his fault but owner’s: by the first picture of the first page of the description of the cottage, it’s difficult to determine if there is a road or not; in the text of the description of the cottage, there’s not even one EXPLICIT mention of the road. He agreed. Purgatory: We never ever will return to this wonderful cottage!

We loved this cottage. It was well equipped, bed was comfortable and the outdoor areas and furniture is welcoming and comfortable. The road is not heavily used and enjoyable to walk up to the point. We really enjoyed both the sunrises and sunsets with spectacular views in both directions. The kayaks and BBQ seem brand new! Would definitely go back/recommend.

This cottage is amazing! My kids and I had a great time swimming, kayaking, canoeing, BBQing, and roasting marshmallows. The cottage was more well-equipped than I expected, there was plenty of space for us to spread out, the beds were comfy and the cottage was clean and tidy. The internet was a lot better than I expected. We went to Orillia (30 minute drive) a couple times to pick up groceries and get take-out. There’s also a grocery store in Brechin (about 15 minutes away). Mostly we just swam and relaxed at the cottage. The sunsets were spectacular. I highly recommend this cottage!

We enjoyed our visit very much! The downstairs sitting area and bedroom were used by our “working from home” grandchild. The seniors hung out upstairs. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. We had most dinners on the front deck. The brand new kayaks were appreciated. Water shoes are a must, as the lake is silty, and shallow. The water was clean and clear. We saw swans and their cygnets behind the cottage- in front we saw muskrats and a lake otter. We hope to visit again!

The owners of Sunrise Sunset retreat Kawathra Lakes are extremely welcoming. Place well well kept, and very comfortable and clean. The Management of the cottages CLRM are very helpful, with great costumer service, especially Christina We will be renting here again next year for sure. We are looking forward to coming back.
