Nestled in the heart of Dysart et al, Serendipity is a hidden gem that promises both tranquility and adventure. As you drive through Haliburton, the welcoming charm of cottage country surrounds you, with familiar sights and sounds leading the way. A scenic journey along Highway 118 reveals the region’s beauty, but it’s when you pass Sir Sam's Ski Hill that you know you've reached something truly special – Basshaunt Lake, a serene spot where memories are waiting to be made.
The drive down the cottage road is nothing short of delightful. As you pass friendly neighbors on walks and joggers starting their day, you’ll feel a sense of community that makes this area feel like home. And as you pull into the driveway of Serendipity, excitement starts to build. With ample parking for up to five vehicles, this inviting 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage offers everything you need for a perfect getaway. From the moment you step onto the spacious deck, you’re welcomed into a cozy retreat that feels both luxurious and comfortably rustic.
Inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully renovated interior where every detail enhances your experience. The large, fully equipped kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances and a granite countertop, is a chef’s dream. Pine cabinetry adds that quintessential cottage charm, while the open-concept living and dining area creates the perfect setting for family gatherings or relaxing evenings. Through sliding doors, a spacious outdoor deck awaits, along with a screened-in gazebo that’s ideal for morning coffee or an evening cocktail while you enjoy the fresh lake air.
The main floor is home to three beautifully furnished bedrooms, including a king-sized primary and two others with double and queen beds, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. A spa-like bathroom with a jacuzzi soaker tub invites you to unwind after a day of outdoor activities. Downstairs, the walk-out basement provides even more space for relaxation, with a second family room, a kitchenette, and two additional bedrooms – one queen and one with twin beds – making it perfect for larger families or groups.
Step outside, and the adventure continues. The backyard opens up to a private hot tub, perfect for stargazing or relaxing after a day on the lake. The small, sandy beach invites you to dip your toes in the water, while the pergola provides a retreat on warm afternoons. The firepit by the water is ideal for evening bonfires, and the oversized dock is just waiting for you to jump in.
