Lake of Bays is one of the jewels of Ontario's Cottage Country. Stretching from the northern shores at Dwight, through bays and channels to Dorset in the east and through the Narrows to Baysville in the south, the lake offers fabulous boating, swimming and fishing. On the west side of the narrows, through rows of pines, is where you will find Pine Groove.
Pine Groove is what many people picture when they think of a Muskoka cottage - cozy and functional inside, with wood panelling throughout, wonderful lake views and a dock that lets you soak up the sun and can launch you on whatever activity you choose to enjoy the lake.
There are 3 bedrooms on the south side of the cottage, with the bathroom tucked into a corner. The kitchen, dining and living areas are open concept and spacious. Your group will enjoy sharing indoor meals here as well as entertainment. Enjoy a board game or poker night while the big game plays on the TV. If you are here on cooler days, there is a wood stove to ensure things remain cozy. Stepping outside the back door, you'll find yourself on a screened sun porch. We think this just might be the star attraction of this cottage at any hour. Soft lighting will see you safe from the mosquitoes all evening while you listen to the quite sounds of the lake.
Out and about, the town of Baysville is less than 4 km away - a quick drive, a leisurely bike ride or a healthy walk. You might instead canoe over to the marina and stroll through the village. You'll find antiques, ice cram and baked goods. Leave the diet at home for the week if you plan on popping into Nelly's for a coffee and a tart. For a wider variety, you might head to Huntsville or Bracebridge, both about 20 minutes away. Each offers their own unique cottage country flair as well as all your shopping needs. Whatever the time of year - The Fire and Ice Festival in Bracebridge, the Algonquin Theater in Huntsville, local Fall fairs, car shows, arts and crafts fairs, farmers markets - you will find something to remember. Most of all, we think you'll build wonderful memories of your time at Pine Groove!
