This was our second stay at Paddles Retreat which has something to offer all ages. Comfortable beds, lots of bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, ping-pong table downstairs, 2 TVs, board and card games with a large table to eat at or use for game playing, are some of the indoor highlights. The bunk bed, games, books, swings, child-sized chairs, and 2 small kayaks show this cottage is very kid-friendly. Some of our family’s favourites were the dock with great swimming, a sandy beach with gradual entry, the great selection of watercraft, the large stone fire pit area, the deck which was perfect for eating suppers outdoors, and the badminton set up. We love Paddles Retreat!

The location and the cottage were exactly what we were hoping for! The lake was a nice size, allowing us to go out in the provided canoe and kayaks to see the resident loon. We often sat on the dock and just drank in the beautiful fall colours, and we made use of the huge firepit when the weather allowed. Even though our vacation ended with some rainy days, there were day trip locations nearby and lots of room in the cottage for games and puzzles. We highly recommend this property!

This cottage was very clean and well organized. The kitchen was well stocked . The 4 bedrooms accommodated our family of 6 adults and 2 children easily. 2and 1/2 baths helped with less congestion. No expense was spared in choice of indoor and outdoor furniture. We expected a bigger beach front. This was almost non-existent. However the big sturdy dock and clear water with sandy bottom was much enjoyed.The kids’room was well designed with beautiful books and stairs allowing easy access to the top bunk.Our family enjoyed the table tennis game in the lower level and the water equipment very much. Each night ended with an awesome bonfire with all the family. We highly recommend this rental cottage!

Fantastic property, clean, well maintained and with everything one needs to enjoy a week by a lovely lake. We (two young families) had a great time, the property is really spacious and comfortable and has a good lakefront and with only 25min from Huntsville, there are also loads of things to do nearby.

It was a fantastic experience in this cottage! It was very clean and organized and had everything we needed! It had a great view of water from the living room and dinning room. The kitchen was very equipped: it had a microwave, a coffee maker, lots of pans and many other things as well. The paddle boats were very fun and using the fire pit was very calming and the whole area was very serene and quiet. The owners responded to our questions in a short amount of time. We definitely recommend this place!

A wonderful setting for enjoying activities on the lake. Although the family room was a little tight for 6 people, we managed to play games on the rainy days. Same level rooms made it easy for grand parents to move around. Calm surroundings. We were unable to enjoy the beautiful fire pit because of the fire ban, but we hung out on the nice dock.
