We always enjoy adding cottages such as this one to our offerings. 1600 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, an excellent waterfront, good privacy and a quiet lake are all the classic ingredients for a family stay at the cottage. Mix in some games, boats and everything you need to enjoy comfort and we think you'll find this could be exactly what you're looking for.
Paddles takes its name from some unique wall decorations inside the cottage as well as one of the enjoyable activities awaiting you here. A paddle boat, canoe and 2 kayaks are great for exploring Groom Lake. Although only a few kilometres in length, it boasts some islands and bays worthy of a day's attention. Fishing is better than average on Groom Lake so anglers will enjoy it here. The dock makes a perfect place to enjoy the sun, be it for swimming or just relaxing with a book and a cool drink. There is a fire pit at the lakefront for sharing evening family time, perhaps with a ghost story or two and definitely at least five toasted marshmallows.
You'll find the inside of the cottage neat and clean. The kitchen is well suited to food prep and clean-up, with a generously sized dining area adjacent. The living room is the central gathering place and a spot for relaxing and enjoying a movie or TV. In addition, there's a games room on the lower level with a tennis table, beverage center and lounge area
Most people like to explore the area for a day or two during a cottage vacation. If you've always wanted to visit Algonquin Park, now is your chance - the Rain Lake Road access point is less than 25 km distant. If instead you prefer something slightly more urban, you can find a a couple of shops and restaurants in nearby Kearney, and Hunstville is just 30 minutes away, offering a wider variety of dining, shopping and culture. If you are here in the Winter months, the ice skating trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park offers an experience like no other and is not to be missed.
Whether you are first time rental guests or seasoned cottage goers, we're confident that Paddles will enchant you and leave you wanting more.
