Baptiste Lake is a gorgeous 3 chain lake and prime example of Cottage Country in Ontario. The winding roads, rocky outcrops, village shops and varying shoreline along 70 miles for boating, make every property unique. This Bancroft cottage rental, Oz Landing, is tucked into a small inlet, with only a few other docks in sight. The cottage fills with sunlight each morning, as an instant reminder that you’ve escaped reality during your stay.
Completely rebuilt, the owners have perfectly honoured the feel and layout of a traditional cottage, while ensuring all the comforts of home are at your fingertips. The 3 bedrooms include 2 queens and a double over double bunk room, plus a 3 piece bath, complete with a washer/dryer.
The kitchen is spacious and well laid out for preparing meals, with plenty of seating to sit and gather, without being underfoot of the chef. The games area has a great view of the lake, so be sure to pick your place at the table wisely, depending on who you want distracted from their cards! To the left, there is an entirely separate screened-in Muskoka Room, perfect for sneaking off with a book or glass of wine.
Outside, once you get over the incredible view, you’ll notice the deck and patio spaces. Access from the deck is available across the back of the cottage and guests can wake up and walk straight out from the second queen room, for sunrise yoga or a morning cup of tea.
The slightly sloping lawn down to the waterfront leads to a shoreline deck and full dock. You can walk right into the water, with the soft sandy bottom underfoot or jump in off the dock and use the ladder off the end. With plenty of bass, pike, muskie, walleye and lake trout, you can fish from your boat or on the ice in the winter months. Enjoy paddling in the included watercraft, swimming out to the lilypad for sunbathing and jumping or splash with your little ones, closer to shore.
While the area comes alive in the spring and summer months with boating and lake fun, there is lots to enjoy in the fall and winter too. Explore the local hiking, ATV and Snowmobile trails such as 181, which goes right by the Oz Landing lakefront! Try your luck with Ice fishing, once the ice has fully formed in the inlet and explore a winter wonderland with snowshoeing, cross country skiing and even dogsledding all within 25 mins of the cottage!
Oz Landing is a wonderful place to relax and unwind any time of year!
