We had a wonderful stay at the Magnetawan Farm! Having the horses around all day long was such a unique experience. My daughter went on a pony ride and loved it! The owner was very kind and friendly. The shallow entry beach entertained my kids for hours! Thank you for the memories 🙂

Beautiful farm house and beautiful surrounding area. Ottmar was very kind and welcoming. The private beach was fantastic. Sandy with a shallow entry for young kids. It’s a small lake so there weren’t any motor boats on it which makes it more relaxing when you don’t have to worry about being hit by a speeding boat or sea-doo. Plenty of equipment supplied- canoes, kayak, rowboat, beach volleyball, comfy chairs to lounge in, barbecue down at the beach,2 picnic tables. We got a lot of rain but sitting on the veranda was comfortable and relaxing. There’s a few hummingbirds and bumble bees that hang out amongst the flowers in front. Inside, there’s plenty of room and beds. A nice new washer and dryer (takes liquid detergent only). The only thing lacking was basic spices in the kitchen. Bring your own salt, pepper and seasonings and also bring dishwasher detergent. Internet reception is poor there but I was able to get some reading in and it was a nice break away from computers and phones. We requested to do a pony ride in advance. My daughter loved it. It was so nice to look outside and see the Icelandic horses every day. This place is so peaceful and wonderful!

Beautiful country setting. Farmhouse is relaxing to the max. Wraparound porch perfect for morning coffee and peering out into the fields and forest edge for signs of wildlife, birds, and of course the daily visit from the horses. The kids spent most of their time at the water, swimming. Or fishing, from the shore or in the rowboat. Also enjoyed the swimpark in nearby town of Magnetewan. Kitchen was well equipped with more than enough dishes and cutlery. Needed to buy a few missing tools such as tongs and whisk. No blender, so no margaritas for me! Big TV with excellent satellite service well appreciated on rainy days. Much enjoyed the big dining room where all 11 of us could have meals all together. No ambient light at night made for spectacular night sky views.

The cottage offered plenty of room for 5 couples, all the amenities we needed were provided, and the property itself was absolutely beautiful. Loved the horses, the lake at the end of the lane was easily accessible and great for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Otmar was a kind and thoughtful host and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the weekend. We are already planning to return for a long weekend again next winter!

Our host was wonderful, we brought our own atv to the property and he allowed us to respectfully use it throughout without an issue. It is a beautiful property, we saw wild life and woke up to a view of horses from the windows. Great for relaxing or activity, swimming at the small beach is great. Will definitely be back.

Magnetawan Cottage is a big, more than 100 acre property and has its own lake, beach on shore and has many items free of use. Owner welcomed with dry fruits and juice. We booked horse ride. This five bedroom cottage had everything you could need including hot tub, basically a home from home. Next day after our stay I have recommended to my colleagues and planning book again for next vacation. We strongly recommend a stay here and can accommodate few families. Many thanks.

Fantastic farmhouse with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Saw so much wildlife, kids loved exploring and swimming at the beach, and plenty of room for 6 adults and 4 young kids to spread out comfortably. Otmar was a very welcoming host, but respectful of our privacy and safety (we were there in COVID summer). Will definitely book again!
