This traditional Ontario cottage rental sits on the shore of Crowe Lake and is only a short distance from plenty of activities in Marmora (5 minute drive) and a convenient drive for those coming from the city (2 hour drive from Toronto). Ardrossan cottage embodies what a traditional cottage experience is all about - peace, relaxation, beautiful views, great swimming, and a large lakeside yard that is perfect for family dinners or a nighttime campfire. The owner lives on the side of the property in a cabin but is out of the way of the cottage and groups will have full, and private, access to the backyard and dock.
As you enter the cottage, you are greeted by a beautiful living room. Whether you want to enjoy a movie night or test your skills at a board game, this space is perfect for the entire group with plenty of seating. Moving into the dining room, you are treated to the true character and history of the cottage, with a traditional English-style that includes hand-crafted woodwork and a dining table that can seat up to 10 people. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher and includes all of the necessary utensils and accessories to make that perfect meal. The cottage includes a Smart TV, HDMI port and unlimited Wi-Fi.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 (max 6 adults). The master bedroom (queen bed) has an ensuite bathroom and the secondary bedroom has a queen bed as well as a twin bed. On the upper floor, the third bedroom includes a queen, double and twin bed. The cottage has 2 bathrooms (1 3-piece and 1 2-piece).
On the exterior, there is a small deck with seating for two to enjoy a morning coffee with the sunrise (not facing the water). The large grass lakeside yard includes a dining table (seats 6) as well as a large firepit area, perfect for nighttime s'mores or enjoying the summer nights' breeze. The large grass lawn leads into a short set of steps to the dock, which includes two ladders for easy entry to the shallow water. The cottage also includes 2 children's kayaks (lifejackets not provided).
Only a 5-minute drive from the lovely, and historic, town of Marmora, the cottage provides easy access for restaurants, groceries or convenience items. There are lots of activities in the town including shops, viewing the former Marmora mine, Callaghan's Rapids Conservation area, and horseback and ATV tours. There is lots enormous do in the area with several golf courses and tennis courts and if you are looking to do a day trip outdoors, both the Petroglyphs Provincial Park, the Peterborough Canoe Museum, and Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park are under an hour drive.
