Nestled in the heart of a lush forest, just a short drive from the town of Bancroft, lies Albion Lake Cottage—a traditional lakeside retreat designed for relaxation and adventure. As you travel down the winding road that leads to the cottage, the enchanting surroundings set the stage for the charming escape that awaits. Upon arrival, the parking area accommodates 3-4 vehicles, conveniently close to the cottage for easy access.
Step inside the front entrance and you're immediately greeted with the promise of delightful days ahead. The cottage's layout invites exploration, from the cozy front porch, perfect for storing outdoor gear, to the expansive kitchen with its large dining table and captivating lake views through the picture window. Here, family chefs can cook to their heart's content while enjoying the scenic backdrop. The ground floor also hosts two of the five bedrooms, each outfitted with a double bed and strategically placed for easy access to morning coffee or late-night snacks.
Ascend to the upper level where the serene ambiance continues in the primary bedroom, which not only offers a luxurious queen bed and an additional double bed but also boasts its own TV and a private balcony overlooking the shimmering waters of Albion Lake. Two more bedrooms on this floor provide peaceful retreats—one with a queen bed and the other with a set of bunk beds and a twin bed, ensuring comfortable accommodations for the whole family.
The living area on the main floor is a hub of relaxation and entertainment, featuring a woodstove, TV, and an assortment of board games for evenings of family fun. Adjacent, the large sunroom, with windows on three sides, offers stunning views of the lake and direct access to the yard. Step out to discover the expansive deck equipped with a BBQ and picnic table, ideal for alfresco dining by the lake. The lawn stretches towards a firepit and leads to a private dock for those who love to swim or boat, complete with a swim ladder and a nearby boat launch.

Waterfront
The cottage waterfront has a sandy bottom, with gradual depth great for lake games. Jumping off the end of the dock is possible (depth approximately 9 feet), into clean, clear water that is mostly weed-free.Close-By Attractions
- The Village Playhouse - Bancroft. Excellent small venue offering live theatre and shows in downtown Bancroft. (20 mins)
- Eagles Nest Lookout. Climb atop the Eagle's Nest Bancroft for a breath-taking view of the York River Valley. Located above downtown Bancroft, off Hastings Street North, it's not something you'll want to miss. (25 mins)
- The Bancroft Mineral Museum. Located within a riverside park in Bancroft (10 minutes), this museum, housed in the fully-restored heritage train station is owned and operated by the Bancroft Gem and Mineral Club. Stop by and discover the history of the mining in the area, learn about mineral collecting, or explore over 400 local specimens, all on display in the 1200 square-foot showroom. The park also offers a playground and skatepark, and there's a nice trail along the river, leading to Millennium Park and beyond. (20 mins)
- Egan Chutes Provincial Nature Reserve. A bend of the York River has become a wetland with an adjacent sand flat, where poplar, white birch, ash, buffaloberry, and purple flowering raspberry grow. Minerals found here include nepheline, sodalite, biotite, zircon, and blue corundum. (30 mins)
- Silent Lake Provincial Park. Year-round park offering over 19 km of hiking trails and 17 km of mountain biking trails, with a beautiful lookout point over Silent Lake. There are two sandy beaches. In the winter, more than 34 km of groomed winter cross-country ski trails are available. (25 mins)
