Overpriced Disappointment – Not Worth $900/Night

We stayed for a couple nights getaway with my partner and daughters. While the view was lovely and the deck was great for relaxing, the overall experience did not match the outrageous $900/night price. Pros: • Peaceful setting • Large deck with a nice view • Two kayaks available • Memorable time spent with loved ones Cons: • Price discrepancy: When I booked, the nightly rate looked closer to $400 (and I have a screenshot showing $265 for similar August dates). I assumed the $900 total was for two nights. Only when I checked my credit card did I realize it was per night. When I asked, I was told, “Did you screenshot the quote?”—which felt like a trap, not support. • No usable lake access: Shoreline was rocky and full of weeds. • Fridge didn’t keep food cold. • No central air: Only bedrooms had standalone ACs. The rest of the place was uncomfortably hot. • Tiny living space—we had to gather around the kitchen table nightly. • Worst of all: An open toilet vent stack in the living room. Yes, gross! Plus a ridiculous “cleaning fee” when WE were responsible to clean AND remove all garbage which we had to take to the dump and PAY for!! If I’d known the true cost upfront, we’d have gone to Balsam Lake instead. Definitely not worth the price.
