This includes all the information on how we manage your reservations and your guests; how we screen them and ensure they are the best match for your cottage. There’s information on what to provide, how to furnish for maximum guest comfort and suitability and plenty of tips on how to create even more success with your cottage rental.
We love checklists because they mean nothing is left to chance. There are checklists for your caretaker, for annual and regular maintenance, for hot tub management, and for changeovers, among others.
We are often asked what to supply so we’ve included some standard inventories such as what kitchen equipment you need, supplies to leave your guests, and how to create a general photographic inventory so your housekeeper/cleaner can do a quick check on changeover to make sure nothing is missing. (Don’t worry, it is rare for anything to be taken away knowingly by your guests, but occasionally things will get packed mistakenly).
It is important that your guests have access to a really good Guest Guide. This describes your cottage systems and quirks, and things that may go bump in the night (most guests will never have heard a water pump kick in!). Using the TouchStay app, we provide this information in the form of a digital, downloadable, illustrated Guide for your guests, which, as well as being property specific, also includes local area information for them as well.
In addition you can print off a PDF version to put in a binder to leave at the cottage.
