Due to the current heat wave in Ontario and Quebec, there is a Burn Ban In Effect throughout cottage country!
What does that mean?
* ALL campfires are strictly prohibited *
* Risk of Forest Fires are at the highest potential *
* Huge fines for anyone found burning during the ban *
* Fireworks and Sparklers are prohibited at all CLRM properties and are also part of any Burn Ban *
These signs can be found throughout cottage country and show the current fire hazard level. The signs are monitored and updated daily and should be referenced before considering a campfire. The Municipality contact numbers will be displayed on the signs, if you do have any questions or concerns for the local by-law office.
You can still cook outdoors with BBQs and propane stoves but must ensure the flames are controlled and confined at all times.
If you do happen to see campfires during a Fire Ban of this extreme, authorities are asking that you call 9-1-1 to report.
Have a safe and fantastic holiday!
