Electronic/Digital Signature Rental Agreement

We've recently introduced a new method of transmitting and receiving Rental Agreements which is a safe, and secure way for you to provide credit card information and signed documents. We hope we have answered the questions you may have about the Agreement below, but please get in touch if you have any queries or issues that have not been covered..

What is an Interactive Agreement?

Why do I have to set up a user name and password?

Are digital/electronic signatures legal?

Is the information I provide safe while in transit?

I've signed the agreement, but now I can't change the form, why?

How do I return the agreement to you now that I've signed it?

Where do I go to see the Agreement I have signed?

I'm not the person who is supposed to sign the agreement I received. How can someone else sign instead?

What is an Interactive Agreement?
An Interactive Agreement, or Contract, allows companies or individuals to transmit agreements and contracts in HTML format. The recipients can then initial and sign off received documents and return them by email in a secure environment, thereby protecting the information contained within the document.

Why do I have to set up a user name and password?
Once you have received an electronic agreement to sign, you will be asked to register your user name and choose a password to verify you are the person authorized to execute the document. The easiest way to setup a password is to click on the area that asks you to “Sign Here”:
Click on the “Register” button.
You will be asked to provide your name and password.
You will also be asked to choose a personalized security question to assist you if you ever forget your password.

Are digital/electronic signatures legal?
Yes, electronic/digital signatures carry the same legal weight as wet ink and comply with the Electronic Signatures in the National Commerce Act, the Uniform Electronic Commerce Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Is the information I provide safe while in transit?
All documents are encrypted via 128-bit SSL 3.0 and run through the SHA-256 algorithm. This is a system many banks use and ensures safety and privacy of information while in transit to us.

I've signed the agreement, but now I can't change the form, why?
In order to comply with Electronic Signature laws, once an agreement has been signed the agreement is locked so that it cannot be modified. If you have made an error and need to change the details in the agreement, please call or email us and we will reissue the agreement.

How do I return the agreement to you now that I've signed it?
Once the agreement has been signed, an email notification will go out informing all parties involved that the agreement has been signed, providing a link to the signed version of the agreement. There is no need to forward anything after signing the agreement.

Where do I go to see the Agreement I have signed?
A notification email is sent once the agreement has been signed by all required parties, and this notification message contains a link to the completed agreement.

I'm not the person who is supposed to sign the agreement I received. How can someone else sign instead?
If you are sent an agreement that you cannot sign, you should contact us immediately so we can reissue the agreement to the appropriate person.
