Butterfly cottage is a most traditional Muskoka cottage rental, blending an air of days gone by with comfort in a relaxed atmosphere - and with an enormous lot, you have plenty of room for lakefront activities for the family.
Four bedrooms (3 upper level, 1 main floor) plus a day bed will allow medium/large and multi-generational families to sleep up to 8 people. There is a 4-piece bath on the upper level plus a 4-piece en suite on the lower level. The kitchen is basic, but provides all you will need during your stay.
The living areas are bright and comfortable. The main living room is a pleasant seating area and has a small dining area adjacent to it. The sunroom sits 5-6 people in comfort and a dining area overlooking the yard and lake will seat your entire group for more formal dining. Off of the sunroom you will find the deck, then the expansive lawn.
The yard is unique to this property. The large lawn is great for pretty well everything, even a game of family baseball or football. A lengthy dock is great for enjoying the sun or docking your boat and while there are some lily pads about, swimming is generally good from the dock.
Butterfly Lake is located near the junction of the "big 3" lakes of Muskoka (Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau) just a few minutes from Port Carling, where you will be able to find most of the items you will need during your stay, as well as some stores and restaurants. You might catch a glimpse of a celebrity or two in Port Carling, but they are on vacation too, so it's best to leave them to it.
There are several golf courses nearby, and the boating is terrific on the big 3 lakes. Butterfly Cottage is here to offer you a simple cottaging experience in the middle of some of the greatest cottage country in the world!
