Bobcaygeon - The 'Hub' of the Kawarthas
The name "Bobcaygeon" is said to have been derived from the Indian word "Bobcaygewanunk" meaning "shallow rapids". More recently it has been made famous by lyrics in a song by The Tragically Hip with the opening line: “It was in Bobcaygeon where I saw the constellations
reveal themselves one star at a time” A visit to Bobcaygeon is enhanced by its beautiful, natural setting. Built on three islands, joined by a series of seven bridges (one being a swing bridge),with Lock 32 of the Trent Severn Waterway System located in the centre of the Village, this is unique place to visit.

Victoria Rail Trail Corridor
The Victoria Rail Trail is an 85 km rail trail with corridors linking Kinmount to Bethany, through Lindsay. This public trail is open year round for recreational uses including walking, hiking, cycling, fishing, bird watching, horseback riding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing; and, subject to possession of a valid trail permit, snowmobiling and ATVing.
