Tucked away on aptly named Paradise Lane, this cottage places its focus on the waterfront. A sandy beach, floor to ceiling windows and extensive outdoor decking and seating will have you at waterside for your entire stay. Keeping an eye on the kids is a snap here.
The living area has comfortable seating for at least 6 and features a view of the yard and waterfront, with the entertainment system strategically placed so as to avoid hampering the view in any way. A kitchen equipped with a full set of brushed-steel appliances awaits the gourmet in your group.
There are 3 bedrooms in the cottage, each with a queen size bed, and a bunkie sleeps 4 more with two bunk beds. Mom and Dad will enjoy having the 4-piece ensuite bath, and there is an additional bathroom with shower for everyone else.
A full length decking system provides an outdoor dining area, the requisite barbecue, and a host of seating options, including a couple of porch swings. When the water is calm, you can enjoy a paddle in the canoe or paddleboat. Swimmig is great, with a sandy entry for toddlers and splashers, with deeper water (5-6 feet at the end of the dock) and beyond. Outdoor days are topped off nicely by enjoying a fire in the fire pit at water's edge before retiring.
Being on Parry Island (although it's an island, the cottage is road accessed) gives you a wonderful sense of getting away from it all, but if you need to get back to the city, you will find that Parry Sound has everything you need in terms of supplies and shopping. If you get a rainy day or two, you might want to use it to explore what the area has to offer.
We were impressed with our visit, and think Sunrise Cottage will become a favourite very fast!
