The Parry Sound, Muskoka and Almaguin Highland area teems with lakes, rivers, waterfalls and outcroppings of Canadian Shield. Of all these lakes, few offer the classical flavour of the area as does Lake Manitouwabing. Pristine water, stately pines and countless bays make this lake a wonder to explore and enjoy.
Summer Haven cottage is perched neatly on one of these outcroppings, tucked away in one of those quiet bays with 170 feet of private shoreline.
You'll find Summer Haven to be the perfect place to rekindle soul and spirit. The classic wood lines and the setting may make you feel like you are in a tree house.
The main level of this 1600 square foot cedar siding cottage features living and dining areas, each with a focus on the serene treed waterfront. The living room has a satellite TV with DVD player for rainy days (or just lazy days) and a wood stove in case the evenings get cool. The master bedroom is complete with an ensuite bath. The kitchen and second bedroom round out the main level and an oak spiral staircase takes you downstairs to the third bedroom and sitting room.
Outside, there are decks at both the front and back of the cottage, with three patio door walkouts. You'll enjoy swimming off the dock, or perhaps exploring a little in the paddleboat. In the evenings, the family will enjoy magical times around the outdoor acorn fireplace. The owners recently added a sleep cabin beside the cottage with two single beds, for anyone in your group looking for additional privacy.
Swimming is excellent from the dock, however the water deepens quickly from the shore, so younger children and non-swimmers should not be unsupervised in this area.
The McKellar/Parry Sound area is loaded with things to do, with museums, golf courses, theatres, restaurants - and of course some of the best boating and fishing anywhere!
