It's tough to find luxury on a small scale but here it is on pretty Crane Lake just over 2 hours from Toronto.. Fabulous wrap-around decks, a sublime view from the bedroom, crystal-clear water, and the amenities of a resort just three minutes away. This superb cottage will delight honeymooners or couples wanting to get away and spend quiet time together.
When you arrive at this idylllic retreat, you'll want to take a walk around the complete wrap-around deck before venturing inside. Check out the barbecue kitchen that will grill your steaks to perfection as you take your aperitifs at the outdoor bar; marvel at the view from the Muskoka chairs overlooking the lake, then check out the waterfront area where you'll be swimming and soaking up the sun. They say the best things come in small packages and it's very true here!
The waterfront has been left mostly natural and has a shallow walk in with some sand underfoot. It is deep enough for diving off the end of the dock. Exploring the lake is great by canoe, or rent a small fishing boat from the nearby resort for a day out on the water.
What a treat the inside is too. The open plan kitchen, living and dining area are well designed and extremely comfortable with delightful cranberry and blue decor throughout. Since the outdoor barbecue is ample for cooking up a storm there is no conventional stove and oven, but a toaster oven and hot plate provide indoor cooking facilities if needed. The contemporary kitchen features a large stainless steel refrigerator and numerous small appliances, and is fully stocked with pots and pans, glassware and dinnerware. The dining table seats 4 while the couch (sofa bed) faces the fireplace for warming up on those cooler evenings. Satellite TV and DVD player offer entertainment when you manage to pull yourselves in from the delights of this cottage's exterior. A door from the living area onto the deck makes access easy.
The bedroom has fabulous lake views and window seats for curling up with a good book, and a door that leads directly onto the deck. Completing this unique accommodation is a luxury bathroom.
Nearby Crane Lake Resort has boat rentals, tennis courts, a small store and an excellent restaurant.
