Riley Lake - Bracebridge |
|
This is real cottaging for those who love the great outdoors and lake living. Situated in a very private over 2.5 acre treed setting on a rocky landscape, the views are spectacular, swimming is excellent with over 700 feet of shoreline for exploring. There's enough watercraft for everyone to have a go!
This is an older, traditional cottage the owners have spent a lot of time upgrading and making into a comfortable place for your vacation. The 1000 sq ft bungalow syle property will accommodate six people in three bedrooms, has a neat and well equipped kitchen; a cosy living and dining area and a sunroom for enjoying the outside while inside. For cooler evenings there is a new Napoleon woodstove and all wood is supplied for both this, and the outside firepit.
The cottage is reached via a short pathway from the parking area. The 2.5 acre surrounding woodland forested paths will whet your appetite for walks - particularly if you have brought your fur friend with you!
There is a flat area surrounding the cottage for games and play, with a short pathway down to the dock. The waterfront has a sandy area surrounding the dock but is mainly rocky and not suitable for diving. Swimmers will just love this as the water is clear and weed-free.
The village of Washago is just 20 minutes drive with general stores and gas station. Bigger stores are found in Orillia, just 30 minutes or Gravenhurst. There is such a lot to do in this area too - no-one is going to be bored at this location!

- What a wonderful way to unwind and start my summer vacation! I’m so glad that I selected “Southfork”. It was just what I had imagined and hoped for! Right from the warm welcome with homemade bread and local papers (thoughtful touches) to the last dip in the fresh water, every moment was relaxing and truly enjoyable
- We enjoyed our stay, this week was truly a blast! The sounds of nature and the refreshing Muskokan rocky outdoors made the trip. The fishing was great, the water clean and warm and the animals beautiful and fearless; the loons swam inches away from our boat, dragonflies sat on my hand and the frogs didn’t mind being stared at, being caught for the pictures. We spent most of our time fishing and exploring. Thank you very much for a wonderful place and vacation.
- Thanks for a wonderful vacation! The location was perfect, the cabin so quant and historic. A beautiful lake with terrific fishing . Between the canoe and the row boat we toured every corner of Riley Lake. Thanks again – Peter & Cindy from Everton
