This magnificent Lake Rosseau cottage combines everything you need to make the most memorable vacation experience - a big lake outlook; supremely comfortable family accommodation; great facilities for all ages, and lots of space for spreading out and just relaxing.
Just a few minutes from the bustling lakeside village of Port Carling, this lovely cottage is in a superb location on popular Lake Rosseau. You'll know you made the right choice when you pull into the spacious driveway and see the landscaped perennial gardens leading down to the cottage entrance and the tantalising sparkle of the lake to the side. It will be hard to decide whether you check out the waterfront first or head inside to explore your home from home.
Let's start inside. The entrance way leads into the large open plan living room and kitchen area with a dining room to one side and a hallway to the bedrooms on the other. The living area has wonderful squashy couches that just invite you to curl up with a book at the end of a busy day on the water or taking in the sun. Choose to sit in front of the warming fireplace on a cooler evening; bag a chair by the vast windows to marvel at the sunsets, or play cards at the game table - the choice is yours - and you'll find endless choices here!
The kitchen is large and has a wide range of small appliances for cooking up a storm. We don't think you'll be missing anything in your quest for culinary magic! Enjoy casual eating at the breakfast bar, or gather the family together around the big dining table in the adjoining sunroom. We could imagine long evenings spent here, savouring a wonderful meal then sitting around the table sharing, talking, laughing and having such a great time.
There are three good sized bedrooms with a queen bed and two with doubles. The spacious master has an ensuite bathroom with a large shower, while the other two share a bathroom that has a bath with shower over. There are several more beds in the guest cabin but more about that later!
The lower floor of the cottage is home to a comfortable family room with lots of seating; an entertainment centre and table tennis. For the worker in the family, a small office allows you to set up your laptop and work in private. Bring your Rogers or Bell stick and you should have adequate internet access.
The cottage has multiple decks, off the cottage and at the waterside and there is seating in a range of locations outside, so you're spoilt for choice as to your sunning spot. The deck accessed from the sunroom has a hot tub, barbecue and patio seating; there are several Muskoka chairs on a rock patio halfway between the house and waterfront; then there's a huge deck over the boathouse plus more seating on the dock level. The guest cabin (no bathroom) is comfortably furnished too and provides ample accommodation for the teens in the group or another small family. The spectacular views from the cabin windows will make this a popular spot.
The watefront is typical Muskoka shield - deep at the shoreline so is great for swimmers and divers. The north-westerly exposure offers wondeful sunsets and plenty of sun on the decks and docks.
This is the heart of Muskoka so along with spectacular scenery there are delightful villages and towns with plenty of craft and gift stores, antique shops and waterside restaurants while golf enthusiasts can enjoy world class golf courses close by. Come and experience Muskoka here! |
