CLRM is proud to be able to offer you this wonderful cottage on Lake Cecebe just north of Huntsville. Everything about Peggy's Cove on Cecebe speaks of quality, taste and elegance in a woodsy setting on the doorstep of the Almaguin Highlands.
A cathedral ceiling in the main living, kitchen and dining area lend an aura of grandeur to this residence that is evident from the moment you arrive. The living room is complete with comfortable seating, satellite TV and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. An elegant dining table seats 8 people in style. The island kitchen, complete with all the appliances you need and flooded with light with a two-storey window, will delight the gourmet in your crowd. The master bedroom is also on this level, combining modern comfort and a 2-piece ensuite powder room with lake views and the charm of a lodge. Across the hall from the master bedroom, you will find something unique - a fully equipped office. This cottage is well-equipped for groups where one or more people are indispensable to their office and need to keep in touch. High speed internet, a printer, fax and unlimited North American long distance will provide a wonderful cottage workplace should you require it. Rounding out the main floor is a spacious laundry room, tastefully finished in wood with a modern washer/dryer.
Overlooking the main living area is a loft which runs the width of the entire cottage and houses a spacious bedroom at one end. This level is a wonderful retreat as it contains a number of quiet seating areas for reading, relaxing or enjoying the view.
The lower level has been recently finished to incorporate 2 additional bedrooms. A bathroom with double sink, shower and sauna add some luxury to the level and an entertainment centre and seating area complement the games area, making this floor a great gathering place all on its own.
At Peggy's, there are plenty of areas for your group to enjoy the great outdoors. The extensive decking is the perfect porch to enjoy the outdoors in full sun or full shade, and a wonderful corner gazebo provides a screened shelter with exquisite charm for any weather. A patio with fire pit is between the cottage and the water, with Muskoka chair seating for all. Lake Cecebe is clean and clear, and you will find the swimming good. The entry to the water is shallow and sandy, but deepens fairly quickly so you can enjoy deeper water at the end of the dock. Lake Cecebe is part of the Magnetawan chain, and from here you have 40 miles of lock free boating, enough to satisfy any boater or fisherman for the week.
Out and about, you have a number of options - the lakes, rivers and waterfalls will captivate the nature lovers and the majesty of Algonquin Park is but an hour away. Huntsville is less than an hour away and offers all the larger city amenities you might need during your stay.
Peggy's Cove on Cecebe is a great way to see the near north in elegant style!

Lake Cecebe is clean and clear, and you will find the swimming good. The entry to the water is shallow and sandy, but deepens fairly quickly so you can enjoy deeper water at the end of the dock.

The first people to inhabit the region were the Hurons, Ojibway and Algonquins, who would visit the area in the summer for hunting and fishing but sheltered on Georgian Bay in the winter. While some Europeans explored the region in the early 19th century, settlement and colonization by Europeans was hardly taking place, so much so that the government of the day considered turning the entire region into an Indian reserve.
