Inside the cottage, you'll find everything is currently on the main level. An open concept kitchen, dining and living area share captivating views of the waterfront and access to the covered veranda that runs the length of the cottage. Two of the bedrooms also cast an eye on the water, with a third bedroom holding a queen bed to round out the sleeping accommodations. The 2 bathrooms are a step into luxury, highlighted by a large whirlpool tub and separate walk-in shower in the master ensuite. The kitchen is a gourmet's dream, with double oven and restaurant-grade appliances. A long dining table lets you enjoy meals in a formal setting, even if you are just bringing in barbequed hot dogs from the veranda!
Outside, the property spreads out to the water with a large grassy area. A fire pit is close to the cottage, the perfect spot for requisite marshmallow toasting and campfire tales. A dock extends well into the lake as the water is shallow at the shore (please note that while traffic at the dock is usually minimal, it is shared with 4 other cottages and other people occasionally make use of it).. There is a sandy wade in area with a small beach for tykes, while swimmers will opt for the deeper water at the end of the dock. The trails and roads nearby are excellent for walking and cycling.
Further afield, the towns of Bala and Gravenhurst beckon, with all things Muskoka awaiting your pleasure. Astronomers in your group will relish the opportunity to visit the Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Reserve very close by - the world's first such area. Canadian shield bedrock provides the perfect base for a telescope. If you need a visit to a something with a more urban flavour than Bala or Gravenhurst, the town of Orillia is less than 40 km away...and if you're feeling lucky, you might wager a few dollars at Casino Rama.
